Merseyside has faced freezing temperatures all week as conditions plunged below zero and several weather warnings for snow and ice were issued for the region. We’ve seen disruption to roads, schools, train services and flights after heavy snowfall hit the area and we even witnessed flooding in some parts.

A rare amber warning was also in place for much of last weekend after heavy snowfall and icy conditions. Thankfully, the January cold snap now looks to be coming to an end for now as temperatures are expected to rise this coming week with sunny spells are forecast for Merseyside.

Despite a cold and frosty start to this morning sunny spells are expected to develop more widely by the afternoon, says the Met Office. Forecasters said conditions will start feeling a bit milder, with maximum temperature of 5 °C expected.

Milder conditions are expected to continue throughout the week, reaching a maximum of 10C by next weekend. Here is the outlook for the next few days, according to the Met Office.
