Child abusers are among the most hated criminals who walk among society.
No one could predict who they are until they are caught out. They commit the most sickening crimes against our children who should be safe from their horrific wants and desires. Children should be protected, but instead these offenders have taken advantage, exploited and caused harm to them.
In the last year, there have been cases in our region which have come before the courts where paedophiles have breached the trusts of children to sexually abuse them, or have satisfied their sick needs by attempting to communicate with children online or access indecent images on the internet.
Here are some of the worst paedophiles who have been locked up at Yorkshire’s courts this year that every parent needs to know about.
Colin Shaw
Colin Shaw has been jailed after being found guilty of sexual assault

Sick Shaw plied a teenage girl with cans of beer before putting his hand up her top and inside her bra.
He encouraged the 15-year-old to stay silent and downplay what had happened to her after the vile attack inside his home in Rotherham. After being found guilty of one count of sexual assault he was jailed for three years and four months.

Paedophile Baskerville was put behind bars for seven years after a court heard how he preyed on a young boy and abused him over two years.
His sick crimes came to light after his victim spoke out and he was arrested.

Ako Hussain Pur was sentenced to seven years in jail

Pur sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl in her own home in a sick attack. He was undertaking building work at the property and had entered the girl’s bedroom before sexually assaulting her. He told her not to tell anyone and when he was confronted by her father, denied everything.
He was found guilty of sexual penetration of a child under 13 and jailed for seven years.

Bradford man Rehman was jailed after causing a young girl psychological damage that could be “lifelong.”
A judge praised the girl after Rehman was found guilty of rape, sexual activity with a child and attempting to engage in sexual activity. He was jailed for 14 years and ordered to serve an extended licence period of a year.

Sick paedophile Montgomery forced his victims to go through a trial after abusing them three decades ago.
He was found guilty of one charge of rape and two of indecent assault and jailed for six years. Bradford Crown Court heard he committed the offences when he was between the ages of 14 and 16.

Kirklees rapist Metcalfe was put behind bars for 12 years after being found guilty of four counts of rape and one of sexual activity with a child.
Bradford Crown Court heard how his sick offending against two girls between 15 and 17-years-old came to light when one bravely reported him in 2019.

Sick predator Fallows was jailed for seven years and nine months in January after being found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a girl between the ages of 13 and 15.

A sick paedophile who sexually abused a seven-year-old girl and went on to rape her in his van was jailed.
Sean Dooley, 57, targeted and abused the girl over a number of years, grooming her and plying her with money and cannabis, while sexually assaulting and raping her.
The court heard Dooley had been found guilty of a number of horrifying offences after standing trial in November last year. Mr said: “He was convicted after a nine-day trial of eight counts – two of causing a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, three of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, two of rape and assault by penetration of a child under the age of 13.”

Anthony Sharp
Sharp was jailed for seven years after being found guilty of sexually abusing a girl more than 20 years ago.
Anthony Sharp, 66, of Raynor Close, Oakes, was locked up at Bradford Crown Court for the abuse which a judge said had had a catastrophic effect on his victim. Recorder Anthony Hawks also imposed an indefinite restraining order which bans Sharp from contacting the complainant in the future and the defendant must also register as a sex offender with the police for the rest of his life.

Webber was jailed after he blackmailed a 12-year-old girl into sending explicit images to him over Snapchat.
Webber, 39, of Hollygarth Lane in Beal, North Yorkshire, was found guilty in July last year of seven offences including blackmail, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornography.
He was jailed for 13 years at York Crown Court after it heard he manipulated a 12-year-old girl into sending explicit images of herself to him over Snapchat.

Sheffield primary school teacher Simon Murch is behind bars after he raped a 12-year-old girl

Sheffield primary school teacher Murch travelled nearly 50 miles to rape a 12-year-old schoolgirl in a hotel and then took her to a toy shop.
SMurch, of Parkside Road, met the girl online. She told him she was 18 when she was only 12. The 55-year-old asked her to send indecent images of herself and arranged to meet her at a hotel in Stoke-on-Trent.
Murch was jailed for seven-and-a-half years with an extended licence period of one year. He will serve two thirds of the custodial sentence (five years) before he can be considered for release by the parole board. He was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and was made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Rotherham man Ward was sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to having sex with a teenager under 16.
Ward denied his actions throughout the investigation, says South Yorkshire Police, but changed his plea on day two of the trial. He pleaded guilty to having sex with a child.
Of no fixed abode, Ward was convicted of sexual activity with a child under 16.

Bartosz Bella, 40, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison

Sheffield man Bella, who exchanged gifts with two teenage girls for sexual acts was jailed for over two decades. Bella, 40, repeatedly abused and manipulated his two victims aged 12 and 16 during a four-year period.
Sheffield Crown Court heard how Bella controlled and forced his victims to engage in sexual acts with him in return for gifts and would beat them if they did not do what he demanded.
Bella, from the Manor area of Sheffield, first appeared before Sheffield Crown Court in December 2022 and was found guilty by jury of three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of sexual assault. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on five further charges.

Darren Oldham featured on Crimewatch as he went on the run after sexually assaulting two teenage girls

Sick predator Oldham, who went on the run after plying a teenage girls with drugs before abusing them in two different attacks, was finally jailed in February.
Oldham, 35, attacked his first victim after giving her cannabis in Rotherham on January 29, 2022. The girl bravely reported to the police that after being given the drug to smoke she woke up to find Oldham sexually abusing her.

Evil rapist Lewis Stacey has been jailed

Evil Sheffield man Stacey used Snapchat to convince a 12-year-old girl he was 15 before raping her in a park.
Sheffield Crown Court heard how 21-year-old rapist Lewis Stacey deceived the young girl over Snapchat messages by using a false name and convincing her he was 15-years-old.
The victim initially met Stacey in June 2022, and during the meeting he raped her twice. Stacey then arranged to meet the girl again in a park in July 2022, where he led her into some bushes and raped her again. He received an eight and a half year jail sentence.

Doncaster man Madine was jailed after sexually assaulting a child while they were sleeping before bragging about it in texts to a convicted paedophile.
Madine subjected the victim to multiple sexual attacks which he filmed. He then sent over the footage to James Mitchell who was jailed after admitting child sexual offences.

Harrogate paedophile Warren was jailed after attempting to meet a “14-year-old boy” for sex at Mcdonald’s.
Warren, 53, believed he was messaging the teenager on an app but was in fact talking to a covert investigator from the Yorkshire and Humber Organised Crime Unit. It formed part of an operation designed to tackle child abuse.
Since his arrest, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Teesside Crown Court to 16 months in jail, suspended for 24 months. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register.

Harrogate man Veal was jailed after sending explicit sexual images to someone he thought was a 12-year-old child.
The 33-year-old, of Harewood Road, thought he was talking to a 12-year-old girl over a social media platform, but he was really talking to an undercover investigator. In January 2023, Veal sent a friend request to the “girl” via SnapChat, and began sending explicit sexual videos of adults performing sex acts on themselves and encouraged her to do the same.

Neasham was found guilty of multiple rapes and sexual assaults against girls as young as 10 years old.
INeasham, 64, from Londonderry Village in North Yorkshire was jailed for 28 years, which will be followed by a four-year extended licence. He has also been placed on the sex offenders list indefinitely and will need to serve at least two thirds of his custodial term before being eligible for release.

Harrogate man Briggs, who raped a child, was jailed for 16 years.
Sick Briggs, 43, was also given a two-year extended period on licence and he has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register. Briggs’ crimes were reported to police in June 2021 after the victim confided in family members and he was arrested shortly after.

Keighley man Whittingham sent an indecent image of a child to her relative and filmed himself engaging in sexual contact with another in a sick crime spree.
He also had sex with a third teenage girl. He was jailed for five years.

Sick Brown told police he had “f***** up” after trying to meet a teenager for sex.
He had just gone through a divorce when he started talking to what he believed was a 13-year-old boy, that was actually a fake profile set up in the aim of snaring sex offenders. Brown arranged to meet the boy at his grandmother’s house – and was arrested soon after he arrived there.
He was jailed for a year.

Registered sex offender Morgan tried to meet up with a 12-year-old boy – but he was actually messaging an undercover police officer.
South Yorkshire Police said Morgan had an online conversation with who he believed to be the boy, and discussed engaging in sex acts before attempting to arrange a meeting. He also asked for photographs.
Sickeningly, Morgan offered to pick the child up from school and suggested going swimming with him in a pond. He was arrested from his vehicle on February 29 this year as he arrived at his home and was jailed in April for 11 months.

Daniel Christopher Broadmore is behind bars

Predator Broadmore sexually abused a girl in Filey. He was jailed for five-and-a-half years after being found guilty of sexual activity, indecent exposure, sexual assault and engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child.
The girl was under 13 at the time and reported the offences to police when she was in her late-teens.

Grooming gang ringleader Akhtar was back in court in May after another brave victim came forward to report him. He was already serving a 23-year prison term when he was sentenced again for raping the woman when she was a teenager.
Akhtar was jailed for 12 years after a court heard he had met the vulnerable teenager when she was 13 and engaged in sexual activity with her. During one terrifying incident, the girl held her crying friend’s hand as they were both abused at the same time by Akhtar and his friend.

Pervert William Harrison tried to bribe two girls with £5 after buying them sweets

Child predator Harrison was put back behind bars for four years after he bought two young girls sweets and offered them £5 to get into his car.
The girls met Harrison while trying to buy sweets at an Asda store. He bought them and led them back to his car, which he tried to bribe them to get into before showing them an image of genetalia on his phone.
Harrison had previously been jailed for sexually assaulting a woman at Morley railway station. He also had previous convictions on his record for offences including exposure and outraging public decency.

John Noel breached a court order by privately tutoring children

Sick private tutor Noel breached a court order banning him from teaching children. He was jailed for three years after Leeds Crown Court heard how he defied the terms of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) which was put in place in June last year after he made indecent images of children and possessed extreme pornography.
He then breached the order by working with children aged five to 17 as a private maths, English and science teacher.

Abuser Keith Lockwood has been jailed

Lockwood was put behind bars for 23 years after jurors found him guilty of 23 historic sex offences.
He had targeted boys over a 30-year period, and had committed a series of sick sex offences including gross indecency with a child and indecent assault against seven boys under the age of 16. The offending is said to have taken place in the 1970s, 1980 and 1990s across Kirklees. Lockwood is on the Sex Offenders’ Register and will remain so for life.

Sick Bristow was ordered to spend more time behind bars after another one of his victim’s reported him to police. He and a now-deceased accomplice were locked up in 2017, and another victim came forward.
Bristow had recorded some of the abuse on his mobile phone and after some incidents, the girl was given sweets and told not to tell her parents. He was jailed for six years and made the subject of an extended licence period of five years.

Hacker paedophile Hutchinson threatened a fellow sex offender and said he would expose him to his wife unless he paid him money. Both men have since been sentenced for indecent images offences – but not until the man had already paid £3,102.98.
Hutchinson was jailed for 38 months.

George Thorley is finally behind bars

Monster Thorley was put behind bars for 39 years after he drugged and raped two children and abused a number of others. The 74-year-old targeted seven children in his sick campaign. He already had previous convictions for similar offences including one against a four-year-old girl, when he was found guilty of 25 counts of indecent assault, gross indecency with a child under the age of 14, rape of a child under 16, two counts of buggery with a boy under 16, and two counts of attempted indecency with a child earlier this year.
The catalogue of the sick charges came after a number of victims came forward about the abuse, which took place in the 1980s and 1990s. For some, it was not the first time, with one victim – now an adult – reporting him soon after, but proceedings were not put against him.

Evil Green was jailed for 22 years after being found guilty of raping a little girl over 21 times – and is still on the run. He was found guilty of five counts of rape in his absence following a trial at Leeds Crown Court. Four of the counts related to multiple incidences of rape – of which there were at least five for each.
Green still failed to turnup for his sentencing but was jailed for 22 years.

“Dangerous and calculated” predator Murray was sentenced to 14 years in prison after he plied his teenage victim with prescription medication.
Murray groomed the victim over a period of time before plying her with the drugs in order to facilitate his sexual offending. The 39-year-old, of Prescott Street, Halifax, was found guilty of two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of sexual assault after a trial at Bradford Crown Court.

Sick paedophile Hurt, who claimed he was “play fighting” with a teenager he sexually abused, was jailed in June.
Hurt, 38, finally faced justice after a jury saw through his lies and found him guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of sexual communications with a child following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
South Yorkshire Police said that as well as having sexual activity with his victim, Hurt, of Batemoor Place, Sheffield, sent messages asking his 13-year-old victim for pictures. When he was arrested, he denied anything sexual had taken place and then ignored officer’s questions.
In addition to the jail sentence, Hurt was also made the subject of a ten-year sexual harm prevention order banning him from having any contact with girls under the age of 18.

Teaching assistant Povall, 61, from Ripon, was put behind bars for eight years after she groomed a 10-year-old boy. She bought him gifts and sent him texts before attacking him.
North Yorkshire Police said she carried out an “evil and sustained” campaign of sexual exploitation, had sex with the boy and performed sex acts on him.

Sick Sheffield pervert Wainwright, who offered a little girl a “bad boy massage” and said he would give her £10 to take her pants off, was locked up in June.
Adam Wainwright, 32, was jailed for two years and eight months after admitting sexual assault on a girl under the age of 13. His sick crime came to light when the little girl told her mother he had done something “weird” to her last year.

Pandor and Hussain have finally faced justice for abusing a teenage girl. The victim – now in her 30s – came forward and bravely told police she had been trafficked by Pandor and raped by Hussain. The pair were found guilty in June and Pandor was jailed for six years in July, and Hussain for 10.
Hussain is still at large and was convicted and sentenced in his absence and a bench warrant is out for his arrest.

Hussain was finally jailed for 21 years after he fled the country after indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl. He was extradited from Bulgaria to face justice and was convicted by a jury.
The National Crime Agency says the offence relates to 2003, when Hussain’s victim was just 14. He drove the girl down a road and parked up before telling her to get out of the car. He then led her away and asked her to engage in sexual acts. When the girl said ‘no’ Hussain forced her.

Sick Welburn was jailed for two-and-a-half years in July after sexually abusing an autistic boy at the school she worked at. She admitted three charges of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.
York Crown Court heard her campaign of abuse took place while she was working at a school in North Yorkshire. She initially made contact with the boy on social media which involved the sharing of sexual messages and images. A shocking string of abuse followed on from this when she met the victim on a regular basis and sexually abused him in her car and flat.

Doncaster man Foster bragged about grooming children online and has now been jailed. He was arrested after the police executed two warrants at his home in Doncaster, leading to the seizure of his electronic devices following an investigation by the Internet Sexual Offences Team (ISOT). These were submitted for analysis and the police found hundreds of illegal images of children and messages showing Foster talking to underage children on the internet.
In one conversation, Foster was caught talking about how he had been able to keep his crimes secret and how easy it was to groom children online. He was jailed for four years and two months.

Doncaster man Yumusak used social media apps to target and communicate with a teenager with learning difficulties who just “wanted a friend.” He was jailed for a year after admitting to engaging in sexual communication with a child and causing a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity.
His offending came to light after the 13-year-old’s mother reported to police that her daughter had been speaking to an older man called MT on the TikTok and Likee apps. Police found in the messages that Yumusak had talked about dating the young girl, asking her to come to his house and made comments such as “love you” and “miss you”.

Shahzad was jailed in July after filming himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl he claimed he “wanted to marry.” The video was then sent to the girl’s father and Shahzad, 24, was made the subject of an abduction warning notice that prohibited him from having the girl inside an address or vehicle – but was later found at an address with her.
Shahzad was remanded in custody on November 27 last year after the girl’s father reported her missing and she was found at the Bradford apartment. Sexually explicit messages between the pair were also found, as well as messages discussing their future marriage, home, buying wedding jewellery and the prospect of them running away together.
He was jailed for four years and nine months.

Calderdale warehouseman Martin Gorman preyed on a teenage girl

Evil Gorman preyed on a young girl more than two decades ago, subjecting her to vile sexual abuse.
A second trial got underway in April when he finally changed his pleas and admitted two offences of sexual intercourse with a child under 13. The woman – who says she is a survivor – was at court for Gorman’s sentence hearing and described in her powerful victim impact statements how she had fought to be heard for years and the abuse had left “a massive scar.”
Gorman was jailed in July for 14 years and three months and made the subject of an additional one-year licence period.

John Gaukroger has been jailed more than 40 years after abusing a young boy

Sick pensioner Gaukroger, 91, finally faced justice and was jailed for abusing a young boy almost 50 years ago.
He was put behind bars for over two years after a jury sitting on his trial at Leeds Crown Court found him guilty of two counts of indecent assault against a boy in the 1970s.
The court heard Gaukroger helped out at a centre which cared for children after school and would take them on camping trips. He preyed on the victim – who was under 10 at the time – between 1975 and 1976. The victim came forward to police in 2020 and an investigation was launched.

Huddersfield rapist Holland was given more jail time after being found guilty of further sexual offences. He was already serving a 12-year sentence when he was jailed for an additional four years for sexual offences against two young boys.
The former Boys’ Brigade leader was also made subject to five years extended licence and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order at the hearing in Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday, July 10. The sentencing came after Holland, who had been involved with the church youth movement in Huddersfield, was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of indecent assault against two victims, then aged under 16.

Sick taxi driver Ali was jailed in July for 13 years after being found guilty of raping two children in Rotherham more than 20 years ago.
Ali, known as Razwan Razaq at the time of his offending, carried out his attacks between 2002 and 2004, using his car to drive vulnerable young girls to various locations where he assaulted them. He was convicted of three counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault involving girls aged as young as 12 and 13 following a trial in May this year.
Ali was released from prison in April 2023 after serving an 11 year jail term for separate sexual offences investigated by South Yorkshire Police. He was arrested by the NCA just a month after his release after officers were notified that he intended to travel to Pakistan.

Alejandro Castillo ‘lured’ a group of boys to his home for a ‘party’

Sick teacher Castillo abused two teenage boys he had met at a bus station after inviting them back to his flat for a “party.”
Cannabis and pizza was put on at Castillo’s home and nothing happened that night, but the next day he invited two of them over again, but four attended. A court heard he sent a number of boys away with money and this time preyed upon two of them.
One of the boys drank until he passed out and was very unwell. He recalled being in the bathroom naked and waking up in Castillo’s bed with him attempting to perform sexual activity with him. Castillo then attempted to kiss one of the other boys. He was jailed for 18 months.

Sick Leeds pervert Bradshaw was locked up in July after police found indecent images showing him sexually assaulting young children on his phone.
He had been made the subject of a community order in 2021 after being convicted of a sexual assault on a two-year-old girl but new images found showed him carrying out more sick acts against the toddler and two other victims. As well as keeping the horrific images showing the three victims, Bradshaw had also hoarded 31 extreme pornographic images that were “taken from his devices involving sex with an animal.”
He was jailed for 20 years.

Paedophile Hutton was 16 when he raped a little boy and carried out a number of sick offences on him. He was found guilty of two counts of rape, assault by penetration and causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The victim – who was around nine or ten-years-old at the time – said in a victim personal statement Hutton, of Pike Road in Rotherham, had “ruined his childhood.”
Hutton was jailed for eight years.

Sick Kenningham’s arrest after he tried to kidnap three young girls led police to make a shocking discovery. Officers found underwear, a sex toy and massage oil in Kenningham’s car when he was arrested earlier this year.
He had previously tried to get three young girls in his car. A judge said he was “concerned” about Kenningham’s offences and the items found and jailed him for three years.

Batley perverts Tai and Mohammed were jailed after they both abused the same teenage girl. The girl reported her abuse to police in 2018 and in August the pair were both jailed, with Tai being put behind bars for nine years and Mohammed for four years.
Tai repeatedly had sex with the victim while Mohammed also sexually abused the girl after taking her in his car to the Showcase cinema complex car park in Birstall. In a victim impact statement read to the court, the girl said she had been “torn to pieces” by what had happened to her.

Sick predator Pratt is likely to die in prison after being found guilty of a catalogue of sex offences. He was convicted by a jury at Bradford Crown Court of a catalogue of serious sexual offences against three female complainants.
The court heard that Pratt, of Keighley Road, Skipton, committed offences of rape against the two women and a girl often when he was under the influence of alcohol. Judge Ahmed Nadim said Pratt had also used violence to overcome any resistance his victims may have offered to his sexual demands.
He was jailed for 27 years.

Rotherham man King sexually abused a young girl with his partner and finally faced justice this month.
He was put behind bars after being convicted of 17 sexual offences against two young girls. He started to abuse his first victim in 2008 with his then-girlfriend, the late Louise Tye. King paid Tye for her help with the abuse and he went on to rape the girl at his home and in his car. During another occasion, he abused the girl and another together.
He was jailed for 21 years.

Ali finally faced justice for raping a girl in a Rotherham alleyway more than 20 years ago. He was found guilty of the attack within hours of jurors beginning their deliberations. Ali, then in his early 20s, targeted the girl after spotting her sitting alone at a water fountain in Rotherham town centre. He, with a group of men, approached her and he asked her to go to a nearby alleyway with him.
When she repeatedly refused, he grabbed her and tried to force her to her feet. Intimidated, the girl went and Ali raped her.
He was jailed for five years.

The seven men were jailed for abusing two young girls in Rotherham. They were sentenced over two-days at Sheffield Crown Court earlier in September. The court heard from their victims, one of which bravely faced them and told them: “I am your karma.” The court heard the men would collect their victims from care homes or meet them in public places and would ply with them alcohol and cigarettes before abusing them.
Saddiq was handed a 25-year extended sentence made up of a 24-year custodial term and an extended licence period of one year. He was also made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. Sadiq was made the subject of a 16-year extended sentence made up of a 15-year custodial term and an extended licence period of one year. Bari was jailed for nine years and Yasin 13 years.
Amar was made the subject of a 16-year extended sentence made up of a 14-year custodial term and two-year extended licence period. Ajaib was handed a seven-year extended sentence made up of one-year extended licence period. Siyab was made the subject of an extended sentence made up of a 25-year custodial term and one-year extended licence period.

The offences were committed while he was on bail after indecent images of children were found on his phone.
Crosby was made the subject of a nine-year extended sentence made up of six years in custody and three on an extended licence period.

Carney was jailed for eight years for sexually assaulting a child and making sick videos using a hidden camera.
The 69, of Prospect View in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to more than 20 charges of making and possessing indecent images of children, voyeurism and sexual assault on a child. North Yorkshire Police received a report about Carney in January 2022 following a disclosure made from one of his victims.

Prolific paedophile Belsham was jailed in September after being caught at Leeds Train Station trying to meet a 12-year-old.
He had already been arrested after a breach of a court order led police to seizing his phone and discovering that he was talking to young boys online. Leeds Crown Court heard Belsham had sent indecent images of himself and audio messages “describing sexual acts he wanted to do with them” to boys who were 14, 15 and 16-years-old.
Belsham was also found to be in possession of category C indecent images of children before he went on to arrange to meet a 12-year-old called Jake – who was actually an undercover police officer. He was made the subject of an extended 15-year sentence made up of eight years in custody and seven on extended licence.

Lamb, 46, was jailed for child sex offences after he was caught out by cops communicating online with a man who he believed to be the father of a five-year-old girl he planned to abuse. Lamb had begun communicating with the ‘father’ on June 11 and over the course of several weeks he sent several messages discussing how he planned to sexually abuse the young child.
Lamb arranged to meet the man he believed to be behind the online profile at a location in Sheffield on July 20, but was arrested by officers when he arrived at the scene. He was jailed for five years in prison and six years on an extended licence.

Huddersfield grandad Porter’s wife dropped him off outside court but was to find out his 16-month jail sentence from his barrister as she felt unable to sit in the public gallery.
Prosecutor David Ward told the court that between December 22, 2021 and February 15, 2022, Porter, of Park Grove Court, downloaded 28 category C indecent images of children, 31 category B and 16 category C. He was already the subject of a sexual harm prevention order that was due to expire soon after, it was said.

Scarborough man Slater was jailed for more than 15 years after being found guilty of 16 child sex offences.
He was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a girl under 13, two counts of sexual touching against a girl aged between 8 and 9, one count of sexual touching against a girl aged between 8 and 9 including penetration and eight counts of gross indecency with a boy under 14.
This abuse dates back to the 1980s and early 2000s. The abuse began when the boy was just seven-years-old and when the girl was five, continuing into their teens.
The court heard how Slater’s abused had impacted all aspects of the victim’s lives and their mental health as they grew up, causing huge distress to them and their families.

His victims finally saw justice handed out when evil Staveley was found guilty of nine counts of gross indecency with a boy under 14, two counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16, and one count of causing or inciting a boy under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
He was jailed for nine-and-a-half years.

Helliwell, 36, preyed upon a teenage boy’s infatuation and sexually abused him on three occasions. Helliwell, of Chesterfield, was found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child following a trial.
It was said that he undertook a “meaningful” attempt on his own life in the court’s cells following the jury’s verdicts. He was jailed for seven years.

Sick sex abuser Bacon offered his young victim money to send him pictures of her wearing just her knickers. When police arrested 31-year-old Liam Bacon they examined his mobile phones and found 49 indecent images of children including one of the girl, which she had been pressured into sending him.
The teenager, who must not be identified for legal reasons, said Bacon’s offending against her had caused her serious anxiety and she still suffered “night terrors” when she tried to sleep. He was jailed for 34 months.

Sick Stevens, who raped and sexually abused two young children, was handed a 17-year sentence after one of his victims bravely reported him to the police.
He was arrested in in August 2023, and a search of his home led to the discovery of mobile devices that he had attempted to hide. Evidence on the phones led police to identify Stevens’ second victim.
Officers found digital evidence including indecent images of children and the rape and sexual abuse of the two girls over a number of years. They were just three and nine-years-old when the abuse started.

Sick Pinnington claimed he was insane when he sexually abused a teenage girl. A jury rejected this defence and found him guilty of a series of offences of sexual activity with a child. He was jailed for five years.
It was said that during the abuse, Pinnington claimed he believed the victim was a “celestial being” with an age measured in thousands of years. He maintained their encounters were consensual, but the court heard he had sex with the girl and promised to marry her when she was 16.

He also asked the profile whether she was naked and if she had ever had a cuddle with a boy in bed before. It was not the first time Islam was convicted of sexual offences – he was made the subject of a suspended sentence when he was convicted of making and distributing pseudo images of a child.

Sick paedophile Palumbo was tracked down to his Bradford home by a paedophile hunter group after he engaged in sexual conversations with a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl.
He sent naked images of himself and described the decoy as “absolutely adorable” before being confronted. He was jailed for 40 months.

Halifax predator Hughes was put behind bars in December after he used a fake Instagram account to groom a child and then went on to abuse her in a supermarket car park.
He exchanged sexualised messages, photos and videos with the teenager even though she had told him her age. Hughes went on to encourage the teenager to meet up with him and on three occasions, he picked her up in his car in Cambridgeshire. Nothing happened on the first meeting but on two other occasions Hughes took the girl in his car to a shopping centre car park and abused her. The offending came to light after the girl’s mobile phone was checked by a family member and he was shocked to find the sexually explicit photos, videos and conversations on her Instagram account.
He was jailed for six-and-a-half years.
