If getting fit is your top New Year’s resolution for 2025, you’re in good company.
Sticking to a fitness routine can be challenging, but one influencer claims that taking the ‘Daily 50’ challenge can help you build significant strength by this time next year.
According to the NHS, incorporating physical activity into your daily routine can have numerous health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
It states adults should aim to:
The ‘Daily 50 challenge’ is something you can do without ever stepping foot in a gym. So if the thought of going out to exercise fills you with dread, don’t worry, as this can be done from the comfort of your own home.
Fitness influencer @fitfittie shared what he does to keep in great shape, which includes doing 50 reps of certain things every single day. You could even do them while you watch television if you need something to distract you from the burn. But once you get into the routine, it’ll get easier to complete.
The regimen begins with 50 push-ups, followed by 50 body squats, then 50 lunges, a 50-second wall-sit, and finally, a 50-second plank. He reassured followers that breaks are allowed between exercises, and they don’t need to be completed consecutively.
Some viewers found the challenge daunting, with one commenting: “This is harder than it looks.”
However, others were eager to take it on, with one stating: “This is what I am looking at doing while I work.”
The TikTok fitness expert also suggested starting with fewer repetitions to make the exercises more manageable for beginners. He recommended starting with 20 a day and gradually increasing to 50.
The NHS advises anyone who hasn’t exercised for a while or has medical concerns to consult their GP before starting a new fitness regime, ensuring the chosen activity and its intensity are suitable for their fitness level.
