Crystal Palace boss makes January transfer admission over Blackburn and QPR linked player

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner does not want to lose Jeffrey Schlupp in the January window.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this winter, with Championship duo QPR and Blackburn both being linked.

Schlupp, who has six months left to go on his deal at Selhurst Park, has made 245 appearances for the Eagles since joining from Leicester City in 2017.

The former Brentford loanee came on as a substitute in Palace’s 1-0 FA Cup third round win over Stockport on Sunday.

“I want to keep the squad together – we don’t have a huge amount of outfield players,” said Glasner.

“We have 21, including [Matheus] Franca. He is also now out again and we don’t know if he is available [until] spring [time].

“It means the number of players available is not that high. I really appreciate Jeffery’s experience and he can play in different positions.

“Today, with Tyrick Mitchell being really ill, we wanted a left-footed wing-back to play crosses – he can play there. He can play in the 10. He can play in midfield.

“He is so experienced – he can play almost anywhere. But Schluppy is now 32 and his contract ends in the summer.

“If he wants to have a change with two or three years on a contract, he will come [and tell me].

“No one has come and said they want to leave – that’s very positive.”
