Amazon slash Ninja air fryer that’s ‘quick and reliable’ to under £100

Reducing cook time and cutting back on fat are a pair of kitchen holy grails that are easier to attain than you’d think. Air fryers are simple to use, cheap to run, cook more quickly than conventional ovens and hobs, and they require little to no oil to crisp up your food as you cook.

If you’ve yet to make the upgrade of adding one to your culinary arsenal, or you’re just after a new one, Amazon has got a fantastic deal on the Ninja Air Fryer PRO 4.7L at just £98.98 down from £129.99. That’s cheaper than you’ll findit direct from Ninja or at Argos.

At 2000W, it costs just 50p to run for an hour at its highest settings, and you’ll rarely need to have it running for as long as that. Along with using up to 75% less fat that you would with conventional cooking methods, it will cook your food thoroughly and evenly in 30% less time too.

At 4.7L in capacity, this air fryer is ideal for cooking two portions at once, with enough space to fit a whole 1kg chicken or up to 500g of oven chips. Its four cooking presets — air fry, roast, reheat, and dehydrate — will give you everything you need to quickly get up and running, and you can of course set the temperatures and runtimes manually too.

Along with all that, you’ll get a two-year guarantee upon registration with Ninja. Amazon customers have been raving about this one, with 4.7 out of 5 stars averaged from 151 reviews so far. “Worked a treat from the off. Nicely crisps potatoes and cooked chicken breasts nicely,” said one five-star review. “Early days but reasonably impressed.”

“It is so quick, very easy to keep clean, very easy to use,” said another happy customer. “Small size suits me and it doesn’t take up much space in my tiny kitchen. Well-made.”

Another added: “Really enjoy using it, and it’s now my favourite kitchen gadget. It involved a bit of a learning curve to understand reduced cooking time and cleaning the pan, but the real bonus is the instant start up and auto-off.”

Some have raised areas for improvement, however. “I’m extremely careful washing but the tray of this has already started to lose its non-stick after a month or two,” said one two-star review.

A four-star review noted an issue with how well it self-ventilates: “The only downside is with the ventilation at the back, it often gets too warm and sets off my smoke alarm. I have to pull the airfryer out into the middle of the work surface so there is enough room for ventilation. This could be a problem in smaller space.”

If you’re interested in alternatives, check out this dual-drawer Tefal option at Currys for £129.99. At a lower price point, there’s also this stainless steel Salter option at Robert Dyas for just £79.99.
