Man found ‘unresponsive’ at house as emergency services swarm street

A man is in a ‘serious condition’ in hospital after being found ‘unresponsive’ at a house.

Emergency services descended on Shaw Road in Blackpool following reports of a ‘concern for welfare’ of a man inside the property. Pictures shared on social media showed a large police presence and the road was closed in both directions as paramedics responded.

A number of residents were also reportedly told to leave their homes, while others were asked to keep their windows and doors closed. Lancashire Constabulary said a man in his 40s was found unresponsive inside the address shortly after 11pm on Sunday (December 29).

He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he remains. No arrests have been reported.

In a statement, a force spokesperson told LancsLive: “We were called at shortly after 11pm on Sunday, December 29, to a report of concern for welfare of a man inside a property on Shaw Road in Blackpool. Officers attended and just after 1am entered the property and found the man, in his 40s, unresponsive inside the address.

“He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.”
