Attempted murder arrest after man stabbed near Dudley Castle on New Years Eve

A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed near Dudley Zoo and Castle. Police rushed to the scene at the junction of Birmingham Road and Field Road shortly after 2.30am this morning, December 31.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was found with stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he will receive further treatment.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing. Detectives were quizzing the suspect today.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed in Dudley. We were called to the junction of Birmingham Road and Field Road at just before 2.30am today (31 December).

“A man in his 30s was found with stab wounds. He has been taken to hospital to assess the severity of his injuries and receive treatment. Following quick time enquiries we’ve arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He’s currently in custody for questioning.
