The Yorkshire Vet’s racy discovery inside dog sparked concerned for couple’s marriage

The Yorkshire Vet star Julian Norton thought he might have “ended a couple’s marriage” after discovering a racy item swallowed by their pet dog.

Julian, 52, regularly encounters pet pooches who have managed to eat something they shouldn’t. Recent patients have included dogs that have swallowed party poppers and even one who ate a mole.

The star says items removed from a dog are washed down and given back to the owners for “evidential purposes”. However, one particular incident involving a pair of knickers led to an awkward situation.

In his column for Woman’s Weekly, Julian wrote: “We retrieved a pair of lacy underpants from a Labrador and gave them to the husband and wife, who were so grateful that the dog was OK – until the wife said, ‘They’re not mine.'” This revelation led to a heated argument between the couple.

“The couple went off in a big commotion. The dog was fine but I’m not sure about the marriage.”

He says people can find themselves getting upset if a family member left something lying around or forgot to close a kitchen door and a mischievous pet ate something they shouldn’t.

He recalled a recent incident where a woman was distressed after her dog attempted to catch moles, leading to fears that a swallowed mole might try to burrow its way out of the dog, reports the Express. Fortunately, the woman’s dog was unharmed and she was able to see the humour in the situation later.

Julian also recounted an incident where a young puppy managed to ingest a bag of party poppers. His initial concern was that the dog might suffer from a blockage or the poppers could explode inside the pup.

Thankfully, the puppy was fine and began to pass small pieces of party popper in its faeces.

Julian gained popularity in 2015 as the primary practice featured on The Yorkshire Vet. Since then, he has made several appearances on shows like Our Great Yorkshire Life.
