All the changes to Southeastern trains on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day this year

As 2024 comes to a close, many Londoners are planning to head out over the next couple of days to see friends, family and fireworks.. There will be some changes to Southeastern trains today (Tuesday, December 31) and in the first few days of 2024.

Passengers should plan ahead so that their plans run smoothly as they celebrate. MyLondon has compiled all of the information abotu what will be happening with Southeastern trains to make that possible:

December 31 (New Year’s Eve)

All Southeastern routes will be open as a Saturday service, as well as additional trains on some routes. Extra late-night trains will run from Charing Cross, Victoria and London Bridge after midnight.

No trains will run from Waterloo East after 11.30pm.

January 1 (New Year’s Day)

The majority of Southeastern routes will be open with a Sunday timetable being run. However, due to planned engineering work buses will replace trains between:

  • Folkestone Central and Deal
  • Canterbury East and Dover Priory
  • Sevenoaks, Maidstone East and Ashford

Off-peak fares will be available all day.

January 2

All Southeastern routes are open. The provider will be running a Saturday timetable with extra trains on some routes.

January 3

All Southeastern routes are open. The provider will be running a Saturday timetable.

Following these dates, Southeastern trains are planned to return to their normal timetables with the exception of planned engineering works.
