Elderly woman critical three days on from medical emergency aboard Finchley Road bus

An elderly woman is fighting for her life after suffering a medical emergency aboard a bus. Police were called to Finchley Road at 12:36pm on Saturday (December 28) following reports of a person in cardiac arrest.

An ambulance crew, advanced paramedic and incident response officer also attended, London Ambulance Service has confirmed. A woman in her 70s was taken to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are now being carried out. A stretch of road between the O2 Centre and Swiss Cottage was closed at the time, with the bus held and cordoned off.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 12:36hrs on Saturday, 28 December to reports of a woman in cardiac arrest on a bus in Finchley Road, NW3.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and a woman in her 70s was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Enquiries surrounding the circumstances continue.

“No arrests have been made. There are no updates at this time.”
