Best gigs in Liverpool 2025: Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Kylie Minogue and more

The past 12 months have seen an incredible range of music gigs in Liverpool. 2024 saw the likes of Taylor Swift and Pink come to Anfield as part of their world wide tours.

Meanwhile local artists such as Jamie Webster, Red Rum Club and The Real Thing wowed the city with their hometown gigs. 2025 promises to be just as exciting, with Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue, Lana Del Rey and more coming to Merseyside.

Popular music festivals such as On The Waterfront and Sound City will be back again too. With this in mind, here is a round-up of some of the best gigs you can expect to see in and around Liverpool in 2025.

Chris de Burgh

Chris de Burgh celebrates 50 years as a recording artist in 2025. Chris is also a big Liverpool fan and has performed in the city several times.

To celebrate his half a century in music, the British-Irish musician is going on tour. This will include a show at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Friday February 21 2025.

Primal Scream

Scottish rock band Primal Scream head out on tour for their 12th studio album Come Ahead. Liverpool is part of the tour, with Mountford Hall at the Liverpool Guild of Students hosting the gig on Tuesday April 8 2025.

Pete Wylie: The Mighty Wah!

Legendary Liverpool musician Pete Wylie will be performing a hometown show this year. To celebrate 25 years since the Songs of Strength & Heartbreak album, he will take to the stage at the 02 Academy in the city centre on Friday April 11.

The Zutons

Liverpool band The Zutons head out on tour following the release of their latest album The Big Decider, their first record together in over 16 years. Best known for their 2006 hit Valerie, the band will return home for a show at Mountford Hall on Saturday April 12 2025.

Ocean Colour Scene

Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene, who boast hits including ‘The Riverboat Song’ and ‘The Day We Caught The Train’, are returning to Liverpool after performing at On The Waterfront last year. They will play at Mountford Hall on Saturday April 20 2025.

Gary Barlow with Brad Kella

Take That star Gary Barlow will be going on his nationwide Songbook Tour in 2025. He will be supported by Liverpool musician Brad Kella, who won the second series of Channel 4’s The Piano last year.

The Songbook Tour with Gary and Brad will be performed across the country including in Liverpool. There will be two live shows at The Empire Theatre on Monday April 28 and Tuesday 29 2025 from 7pm.

The Waterboys

The Waterboys have been led by Scottish singer and guitarist Mike Scott since the 1980s and have evolved through countless line-ups. One of their best known songs is The Whole Of The Moon. The band will be coming to Merseyside this year. They will perform at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Thursday May 8 2025.

Olly Murs

Fresh from his time as special guest to Take That earlier this year, Olly Murs has announced a massive UK arena tour for next spring. He will be joined by Blue. The 15 Years of Hits – Live 2025 tour will come to the M&S Bank Arena on Thursday May 15.

Supergrass

English rock band Supergrass are marking 15 years since the release of their debut album I Should Coco with a nationwide tour. As part of this, the band will take to the stage at the Liverpool Olympia on West Derby Road on Thursday May 15 2025.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue has announced her highly anticipated ‘Tension Tour’ for 2025 will come to Liverpool. Opening in Australia before reaching Asia and Europe, the world tour is set to be her biggest since 2011.

Speaking about this, Kylie said: “I am beyond excited to announce the TENSION TOUR 2025. I can’t wait to share beautiful and wild moments with fans all over the world, celebrating the Tension era and more!” Kylie will perform at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Thursday May 22 2025.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Sophie Ellis-Bextor will come to Liverpool as part of her 2025 tour. With an impressive musical career spanning 25 years, Sophie has achieved five top 10 albums and eight top 10 singles. Sophie recently toured sold-out headline shows across Europe and the US and appeared at festivals including Glastonbury’s legendary Pyramid Stage in 2023.

Kicking off in Glasgow, Sophie’s new tour will hit 15 cities including Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff and Bristol. The iconic pop star has confirmed one date for Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall on Thursday May 29.

Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will play two nights at Anfield next summer as part of his 2025 European tour. It will be the first time that ‘the Boss’ will visit Merseyside and he has already spoken about his excitement for the forthcoming gigs.

Bruce admitted it was a long-held dream for any American to visit Liverpool and he is looking forward to laying his eyes on Merseyside for the first time. He said in an interview earlier this year: ” I’m very excited about (playing in Liverpool). I’ve never been there. If you come from America, you want to see Liverpool.” Thousands will descend on L4 to watch The Boss at the home of Liverpool FC on Wednesday June 4 and Saturday June 7 2025.

Billy Joel

American singer-songwriter Billy Joel will play at Anfield next summer. The 75-year-old returns to perform in Liverpool for the first time in 45 years.

His music remains timeless and these concerts are set to become part of his enduring legacy as one of the most engaging and best-selling live performers of our time. The Piano Man singer will take to the stage at Anfield on Saturday June 21 2025, one of just two exclusive performances in Europe next year.

Jamie Webster

On the same day, Jamie Webster will play his fourth headline show in Merseyside this year. The musician will take to the stage at Haydock Park Racecourse in St Helens on June 21 2025.

Speaking about the performance, which will take place on June 21 2025, Jamie said: “Sefton Park was a pure bucket list moment for me this summer and I can’t wait to make more memories at Haydock Park Racecourse. Let’s have a proper day out!”

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa will be coming to Liverpool this year. Dua has developed a strong affinity with the city in recent years. She performed the opening ceremony for the 2018 Champions League final between Liverpool FC and Real Madrid.

The Reds sang along to One Kiss, made by Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris. The fans’ love of the song continued at the reds’ numerous cup final victories since. She will be performing at Anfield stadium, the home of the reds, on June 24 and 25 2025.

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey delighted her fans earlier this month by confirming that she will be returning to the UK in 2025. The Summertime Sadness singer will be embarking on a tour in June and July 2025, performing her most popular hits across the country.

The multi-Platinum selling superstar will take to the stage for one night at Anfield. This will take place on Saturday June 28 2025. Lana is a Liverpool FC supporter herself. She visited Anfield in 2013 and met then captain Steven Gerrard. She also performed a version of You’ll Never Walk Alone for a documentary to mark the club’s Premier League title win in 2020.

The Wombats

The Wombats will perform at the On the Waterfront festival next summer. They will take over the Pier Head for their biggest ever hometown show.

Commenting on their return, drummer Dan Haggis said: “We’re so excited to announce that we’re playing a huge hometown show, back where it all began, on the 19th June 2025! The Mersey and Liver Buildings will provide the backdrop, we’ll provide the tunes.” The band will be supported by Pale Waves and Sawyer Hill. The gig will take place on Thursday June 19 2025.

Holly Johnson

Holly Johnson has announced the Welcome To The Pleasuredome 40th Anniversary Tour. This will celebrate four decades since the iconic debut album by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Fans can expect to hear iconic anthems like the chart-topping Relax, Two Tribes, and The Power of Love. The six date tour for June 2025 includes a major homecoming at the M&S Bank Arena on Saturday June 21 2025.

Sting

Grammy Award-winning artist Sting will also be part of On The Waterfront. Known for his groundbreaking work as a solo artist and as the front man and songwriter for The Police, Sting has become one of the biggest names in music over the decades with many accolades to his name.

Sting will make his long-awaited return to the city on Sunday June 22 2025 as part of his STING 3.0 world tour. The supporting acts are yet to be announced.

Becky Hill

Two-time BRIT Award winner Becky Hill will also perform at Haydock Park Racecourse next year. The English singer-songwriter has gone from strength-to-strength since first coming to attention as the voice of Wilkinson’s seminal dance anthem ‘Afterglow’. Becky’s gig will be on Friday August 8 2025, with a full headline set after a day’s racing at the racecourse in St Helens.

Billy Ocean

R&B singer Billy Ocean will be the first headline act at the music festival at Salt and tar in Bootle in 2025. The R&B singer will be supported by legendary Liverpool soul group The Real Thing on Thursday August 7. Sharing the stage on the festival’s opening night is St Helens band The K’s.

Simply Red

Soul and pop band Simply Red are marking their 40th anniversary in 2025 with a tour of the UK and Ireland. This will include a date in Liverpool on October 3 2025 at the M&S Bank Arena.
