Kneecap to headline Brockwell Park’s Wide Awake festival

Wide Awake might only be in its sixth year, but it’s already established itself as an essential way to kick off festival season in London.

With an ability to bring together a genre bending line-up of emerging and established artists, the South London festival is like no other.

Ireland will be taking over the stage this year, with Kneecap and Cmat topping the bill in Brixton’s Brockwell Park on May 23.

Kneecap, the west Belfast rap trio made up of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and the tri-colour balaclava-clad DJ Próvai, are born crowd-pleasers with a live set unlike any other hip-hop act.

Taking a turn to Irish country-pop, but maintaining an intoxicating unruly energy, Cmat singer Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson promises a show that will fizz with vocal and emotional peaks.

But that’s only just the start of an extensive line-up waiting in the wings of Wide Awake 2025.

The sixth iteration of the festival will also welcome Nadine Shah, Warmduscher, COBRAH, Fcukers, Marie Davidson, and Chanel Beads.

They join buzzy new names like Getdown Services, Ugly, jasmine.4.t and Mermaid Chunky.
