A visit to their Kingsway location gave my colleagues and me the chance to try a variety of the new dishes which have been added for the new year.
With a strong focus on fresh ingredients, vibrant flavours, and plenty of plant-based options, Leon continues to be as a go-to for fast, wholesome food.
I started with the new Chicken Caesar Salad. The chicken was excellent—tender, flavourful, and generously portioned. Served on a bed of crisp salad leaves, grains, and seeds, it was well-complemented by a honey mustard Caesar dressing.
While I’m usually cautious with honey mustard, this version was perfectly balanced, tying the dish together without overpowering it.
Light yet filling, it felt like a thoroughly satisfying and healthy choice.
I decided I wanted to go out of my comfort zone so I tried the Turmeric Latte. As someone who enjoys turmeric, I found the drink interesting, with its earthy warmth and subtle spice from ginger and black pepper.
That said, it’s not a drink I’d reach for again in all honestly. It’s a bit of an odd combination.

While the falafel wasn’t as crispy he expected, the vibrant pickles and chilli sauce delivered on flavour.

Another standout was the Korean BBQ Pork Bowl, chosen by a colleague who initially worried it might be too sweet. Instead, it was perfectly balanced, with tender pork in a spicy gochujang sauce that paired beautifully with tangy yuzu pickled cucumbers.

The Leon Baked Fries were a real disappointment for one of my colleagues. Served cold and missing their accompanying sauce, they felt stodgy and underwhelming compared to the high standard set by the other dishes.
Drinks were more successful, particularly the Iced Chai Latte, which was sweet, creamy, and full of warm, spiced flavours. It’s a drink that’s likely to remain a popular choice throughout the year.
My colleague said that the Paprika Chicken Super Bowl was well-balanced and full of flavor, with a generous portion of chicken. They mentioned that the sauce had a nice kick without being too spicy and felt it was a healthy lunch option that didn’t sacrifice taste.

One of the most exciting developments on the new menu is Leon’s introduction of Build Your Own Super Bowls.
This customisable option allows diners to tailor their meals with a variety of bases, proteins, and toppings.
For vegetarians and vegans, it offers an excellent opportunity to craft a dish that suits their tastes perfectly.
One colleague did the wrong sauce on a Super Bowl which she still enjoyed but was disappointed when the dish was not how she had made it.
With plenty of variety and an emphasis on fresh, wholesome ingredients, Leon is an ideal choice for those looking to make healthier food choices without compromising on flavour.
