Driver dies in South Nutfield crash after colliding into tree with police warning to avoid area

A man in his 30s has died after crashing into a tree while driving. Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision in South Nutfield yesterday evening (Sunday, December 29).

Police were alerted to the crash in Coopers Hill Road at around 9.45pm. The driver, a man in his 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said the road has been closed in both directions and is likely to remain so for some considerable time, with drivers urged to avoid the area for the time being. The spokesperson added: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, anyone with dashcam footage or any other information which could help us progress our investigation, to contact us quoting reference PR/45240149534 via webchat on our website https://www.surrey.police.uk/, our online reporting tool https://www.surrey.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/ or by calling us on 101.”
