Amazon knocks £100 off ‘versatile’ Google Fitbit smartwatch with ‘excellent battery’

If your New Year’s resolution is to exercise more or improve your health and wellbeing, a smartwatch can be the perfect gadget to keep track of your progress and help motivate you. Amazon has knocked over £100 off the Google Fitbit Sense 2 for a limited time, allowing you to snap up the device for £168 instead of the usual £269.99 price tag.

The watch comes in three colours – grey, white, and pale blue – and is compatible with iPhones iOS 15 or higher and Android mobiles OS 9.0 and above. The gadget offers up to six days battery life and is water-resistant up to 50m.

Whether you’re wanting to get into a new exercise regime, or just want to keep an eye on your health, the Google Fitbit Sense 2 has you covered. The watch has dozens of useful features, such as 24/7 heart rate monitoring, a personalised sleep profile, all-day stress detection, menstrual tracking, an in-built GPS, and over 40 exercise modes.

The device can also be used with your phone via Bluetooth to receive calls, texts, and notifications. Included with the Google Fitbit Sense 2 is a six-month Premium membership for deeper insights, guidance, exclusive workouts, mindfulness sessions and much more.

Included in the box is the Fitbit Sense 2 Smartwatch, two straps in sizes small and large, plus a charger. Over 3,500 Amazon customers have reviewed the watch to date, with it earning an overall rating of 4.2 out of five.

One thrilled buyer awarded it full marks and said: “I bought this Smartwatch as an upgrade to my previous Fitbit which was no longer holding its battery charge. I appreciate the additional functionality, particularly relating to sleep quality and readiness for exercise.

“The battery charge is excellent – even when making good use of the GPS when out exercising and other special features, it averages about six days per charge… If you’re looking for a Smartwatch to support your health, fitness and wellbeing goals, which is also versatile to fit in with the rest of your life, this may be for you too.”

A second commented: “Very good and far superior to the Huawei brands. Heart monitoring is comprehensive and it also does basic ECG readings. Very happy so far and a decent price.”

Sadly some Amazon shoppers have been left disappointed by the Google Fitbit Sense 2. One buyer explained: “I wanted it for dog walking and in particular to use the GPS tracking, but it’s totally inaccurate and often doesn’t lock in at all.”

Someone else said: “I bought this to help train for a half marathon. I run and walk seven days a week. Every time I exercise, my Fitbit starts but then stops and resets itself multiple times per run.”

Thankfully not everyone has had issues, with a satisfied customer saying: “Easy to use and looks great. I had two Versa 2 watches previously that broke after about 18 months so I’m hoping for better. This has extra features – Alexa, more exercises, voice calls – and is more intuitive, accurate, and comfortable

“I got my boyfriend a Garmin Vivoactive for Christmas and I bought this for me after. He prefers this Fitbit as it’s simpler and has more features than just detailed health stats.”

You can buy the Google Fitbit Sense 2 smartwatch from Amazon here for £168 while the sale lasts. Alternatively, Very is currently offering the AI-powered Samsung Galaxy Watch7 on sale for £214, down from £289. If tracking training and recovery is your priority, Decathlon is selling the Garmin Forerunner 255 GPS Smart Watch for £210.99.
