Ambulance statement after man found with serious ‘stab’ wound on Stratford Road

Police are continuing to investigate after a man was found with a serious ‘stab’ wound on Sparkbrook. The emergency services were called to Stratford Road around 4pm on Wednesday (Jan 8) where they found the injured 18-year-old victim.

West Midlands Ambulance Service also sent MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic to the scene and administered advanced trauma care. He was then transferred to hospital for further care.

Officers conducted enquires to establish what happened. The ambulance service said: “We were called at 4pm on Wednesday January 8 to reports of a stabbing on Stratford Road in Sparkbrook. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man with serious injuries.

“He received advanced trauma care at the scene which continued en-route to hospital where he was conveyed for further treatment.”

West Midlands Policesaid: “We are investigating after a man was found injured in Birmingham this afternoon. We were called to Stratford Road, Sparkbrook, shortly after 4pm today when an 18-year-old man was found injured with what is believed to be a stab wound.

“He has been taken to hospital and our officers are at the scene carrying out further enquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened.
