Welsh Hollywood actor Anthony Hopkins is reportedly the latest victim of the disastrous wild fires that have hit the Californian region. It is understood that the Port Talbot native’s $6m home was destroyed overnight as firefighters continue to battle the raging fires sweeping through Los Angeles.
The 87-year-old joins a long-list of celebrities and locals whose homes have been wiped out since fires started on Tuesday. Mr Hopkins former Malibu home narrowly missed destruction when wildfires hit the area in 2019, however his new home has not been so lucky.
Mr Hopkins purchased the Pacific Palisades home for $6 million in 2021, MailOnline reports. Images have been shared online reportedly showing the four-bedroom, five-bathroom colonial-era home left with just charred remains. The timber frame of the house is completely gone, with a cement footprint and stairs among as the only evidence among the ashes that a house once stood there.

The wildfires have seen the city declare a state of emergency, with at least 130,000 people forced to evacuate their homes as the metropolitan area became blanketed in a thick cloud of smoke and ash. The latest update saw a new fire break out in the Hollywood Hills, threatening a host of tourist sites including the Walk of Fame.
Actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester have also lost their home to the flames. Anna Faris and Ricki Lake have also spoken of their devastation after their homes were destroyed.
