The music world was left reeling when the news broke that DJ and record producer Avicii had tragically taken his own life in 2018.
Avicii, the Swedish sensation, shot to stardom with his 2011 breakout single “Levels,” which paved the way for a series of smash hits.
In a touching homage following his untimely passing, Stockholm’s Ericsson Globe was renamed Avicii Arena, and an interactive memorial, the Avicii Experience, was established to celebrate his legacy.
A poignant documentary titled “Avicii: True Stories,” detailing the late DJ’s meteoric rise to become an icon of his era, has just been released on Netflix as of December 31.
Avicii’s death in 2018 was a devastating blow to many, including his former partner Emily Goldberg, whom he dated from 2011 to 2013, reports the Daily Record.

Goldberg shared a moving tribute to Avicii, writing: “Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love,” quoting lyrics Avicii wrote for her. She expressed regret at not being able to live up to those words.
She reflected on their time together, saying, “For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidante, and my best friend.
“Now I can’t look at Bear without knowing I’ll never see his face again. I’m still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts.”
Goldberg concluded her homage with a reference to one of Avicii’s most beloved tracks, writing: “Wake me up when it’s all over, because I don’t want it to be real.”
In the years that followed the break-up, Emily frequently shared posts about her former partner on special occasions, such as his birthday and other significant events, affectionately referring to him as her “soul mate” and “best friend”.

In a shocking and devastating twist, Emily tragically passed away on April 24 in La Jolla, California, at just 34 years old, due to a pulmonary embolism.
Her loved ones, including her parents Julie and Sam Goldberg, as well as her brother Aaron, remembered her as a “vivacious and unique individual who had many exciting adventures in her all-too-short life.”
Only a year prior, Emily had taken to social media to reveal she was cancer-free, after a long and challenging battle with the disease that had lasted 12 months.
Emily had proudly declared: “I lived b****. I have had cancer for the past year. I am now cancer free.”
