Harris Dickinson, the star of Bodies Bodies Bodies, is back in a risqué thriller directed by Halina Reijn.
The film, Babygirl, which was released on January 10, explores a taboo relationship between a respected CEO (played by Nicole Kidman) and her young intern (portrayed by Dickinson).
The sensual thriller received a seven-minute standing ovation at last year’s Venice Film Festival and has been similarly lauded by audiences since its Christmas Day premiere in the US. As movie buffs tune into the steamy drama, which also features Antonio Banderas (Paddington in Peru), Sophie Wilde (Everything Now) and Esther McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), let’s delve into the Londoner’s life both on and off the screen.

Born in Leytonstone, in June 1996, Dickinson is the youngest of four siblings. He grew up in a peaceful neighbourhood in Waltham Forest, with his father working as a social worker and his mother as a hairdresser.
The 28-year-old developed an interest in filmmaking from a tender age, uploading sketches on YouTube when he was just 11 years old. Although these videos are no longer available online, Dickinson remembers creating parody clips of Bear Grylls and weekly skits that were popular among his classmates, reports the Mirror.
However, it wasn’t until he turned 17 that he considered filmmaking as a potential career path. Prior to this, he had been part of the cadets and was planning to join the military.
The actor spilled the beans on his past life ambitions during a chat with Chris Evans in 2022, where he shared: “I was in the Marine cadets from age, like, 14, and I really enjoyed it. It sort of gave me this purpose that I otherwise didn’t have, and acting was something I was simultaneously doing. But I never imagined it would be a career.”
While mingling with creatives at Walthamstow’s RAW Academy, an arts club hosted by actors, he found direction through an astute acting teacher. Reminiscing during The A24 Podcast conversation with star Andrew Garfield, he confessed: “I almost joined the military and my acting teacher was like, ‘Why are you doing that?”
Opting for a life bathed in stage lights instead of military drills, he snagged his first acting role at 18 in the play Angels, penned by Pauline McLynn, shining on the stage of the National Theatre.

The emerging talent caught eyes on the silver screen as the conflicted youth in Eliza Hittman’s Beach Rats back in 2017.
Ever since that pivotal performance, he has graced our screens in top-tier productions like Ruben Ostlund’s Triangle of Sadness, Sean Durkin’s sports saga The Iron Claw, and Steve McQueens Blitz with co-star Saoirse Ronan.
Furthermore, he enthralled audiences in the suspenseful flick Where the Crawdads Sing, based on Delia Owens’ beloved book.

Dickinson is rumoured to be joining the star-studded cast of Sam Mendes’ quartet of The Beatles biopics. The legendary band will reportedly be played by Paul Mescal (as Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (as Ringo Starr) and Joseph Quinn (speculated to be George Harrison.)
Although Dickinson hasn’t confirmed these reports, fans have picked up on a hint he dropped during his A24 interview with Andrew Garfield. When asked about his current read, he said: “I’m reading a book about the sixties.” He then revealed that it’s for an upcoming film.
However, in a recent chat with MTV journalist Josh Horowitz, Dickinson cleverly dodged questions about the biopics, jokingly asking: “Who are The Beatles? Who are they?”

On the personal front, Dickinson has been in a long-term relationship with rising singer Rose Gray since their school days.
Gray, who is set to drop her debut album, Louder, Please, on January 17, boasts an impressive 745.8K monthly listeners on Spotify.
While the couple occasionally steps out together at industry events, they’ve largely kept their relationship under wraps. They’ve also teamed up on two of Gray’s music videos, Blue and Afraid Of Nothing, with Dickinson stepping in as a director.
Looking back on their collaborations, the Babygirl star shared with Hunger: “It’s […] testing for a relationship because you’ve got to open yourself up to a different kind of dynamic. But it definitely helps with the closeness because you can get to things quicker without that sense of carefulness and trepidation around being offensive.”
“We’re so close that we can just be very direct. And I think she was the same with me, where if I had a crap idea, she’d say, “No, we’re not doing that.”
