Escape to the Country star Nicki Chapman has shared a glimpse into her life with her husband Dave as she celebrated her birthday. The BBC TV presenter turned 58 on Tuesday, January 14.
The former Pop Idol judge wrote on Instagram: “Another year – happy healthy & grateful. Thank you for my birthday best wishes. Some pics with my fam which make me smile.”
Although she largely tends to keep her own marriage out of the limelight, she occasionally shares a snap of her loved-up with her music mogul partner Dave Shackleton. The couple met while both working at RCA Records and have been married since 1999.

Nicki marks their anniversary each year with an Instagram snap. In July 2024, she took to Instagram to mark 25 years of marriage, sharing a number of snaps of the couple from over the years. She wrote: “25 years. It’s our silver wedding anniversary.
“This day 25 years ago, was one of the hottest of the year. Not quite the same today me thinks but still in love with my boy as much now as I was then. Punching above my weight? Definitely @shacky01.
“Not sure we (or perhaps just me!) could fit into our wedding attire like another celebrating couple recently. However, some photos of us taken this year in the South of France (green dress of dreams actually belongs to a dear friend @annacb1973 who kindly lent it to me), on a cruise, out & about & our actual wedding day at Syon House. Love you Shacky xxxx Thank you to our family & friends for all our 25th anniversary best wishes.”
The couple live in Chiswick, London, and Nicki spoke about how her home and garden have become her ‘sanctuary in House Beautiful Magazine. The home features a panic room.
Her friends and fans rushed to celebrate the star. Her fellow Escape to the Country host Ginny Buckley wrote: “Happy birthday lovely lady. Wishing you all good things for the year ahead.”
A fan wrote: “Happiest of Birthday’s to you Beautiful Nicki. Wishing you a Super Duper Fantabulous Day,” while another commented: “Happy Birthday Nicki – looking better than ever. Have a rockin’ day.”
