BBC Saturday Kitchen star Matt Tebbutt received a brutal on-air telling off on Saturday – as a guest yelled: “Leave her alone.” The awkward moment transpired as Matt welcomed a string of guests into the studio for the Saturday, January 18 episode.
But the presenter, who was at the helm of the show in the wake of BBC Breakfast airing on Saturday morning, was left red-faced as his guest Kerry Godliman didn’t hold back. Matt was joined by chefs Dina Macki and Andrew Wong, and by special guest Kerry Godliman.
There were some great moments from the BBC food archive, including clips from Rick Stein, the Hairy Bikers, Nigella Lawson and the Two Greedy Italians, Gennaro Contaldo and Antonio Carluccio. Drinks expert Helen McGinn pickd the wines to go with the studio dishes.

As the episode kicked off, Dina Macki showcased an injury, as Matt informed viewers he’d be helping her make the dish later on. But ahead of Dina’s turn in the kitchen to whip up a dish, it was the duty of another chef to make something.
As Matt enquired how the dish was, Dina said: “The beef is incredible. I’ve never had beef like it!” Matt, replying to the show guest, commented: “Just so I’m clear, you can eat with your hand and use your hand, but you can’t chop with it?”
Kerry then jumped in, fumingL “That’s a completely different thing! Leave her alone!” Taking to Twitter/X, one social media user wrote: “Artichokes and Octopuses- title for Kerry’s next tour??!!” A second asked: “Please ask Kerry are we going to get any more Whitstable Pearl?”
“I like Kerry Godliman, she’s funny, not hysterically funny but that won’t stop a certain someone from wetting herself over everything she says ….so i wont be watching,” another wrote. “Love Kerry,” another said.
