Craig Revel Horwood has been praised as “warm and witty” by his fellow Strictly Come Dancing judges as he marks a major milestone – his 60th birthday. The choreographer, who has been a mainstay of the show since 2004, is being celebrated by his colleagues.
Judge Motsi Mabuse posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying: “Happy 60th birthday to one of the most fabulous, inspiring, and unforgettable people I know! On this milestone, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact you’ve had-not just on Strictly , but in my life personally.”
She thanked Revel Horwood for his kindness when she joined the show in 2019, adding: “You welcomed me with open arms, and I will never forget how supported and seen you made me feel during those first moments,” Mabuse added. “Over the years, I have come to treasure this (heart emojis), from our laughter-filled conversations to our shared love to Banter, you’ve shown me that beneath your legendary sharp wit is a kind, generous, and truly remarkable soul. I feel so lucky to share this journey with you and to celebrate you today.”

Meanwhile, Anton Du Beke shared a playful photo of himself and Craig Revel Horwood dressed as the Grady twins from The Shining for Halloween week on the BBC programme, along with a birthday message. Du Beke wrote on Instagram: “Happy 60th birthday to the wonderful @craigrevel! My sister from another mister. Have a fabulous day my love! #60today.”, reports the Mirror.
Shirley Ballas, Revel Horwood, Du Beke, and Mabuse are gearing up for the Strictly live tour kicking off later this month. In a candid chat with Radio Times, Revel Horwood disclosed his intention to publish a book filled with the negative feedback and death threats he’s received, in an effort to “shame them”.
He also reflected on how he has refined his judging style over the years, shifting from being “really harsh” to adopting a more constructive, teacher-like approach. Revel Horwood acknowledged his past directness with celebrities, but now prefers to “wrap the truth in a nice way”.
His extensive career has seen him take the stage in various productions and pantomimes, notably as Miss Hannigan in Annie’s touring production, and he has both directed and choreographed the UK tour of Sister Act.
