The latest series of hit show The Traitors is back on our screens – and one contestant from Liverpool has already been tipped as an “early favourite” to win the show. The BBC series, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, sees a group of strangers stay at a castle in the Scottish Highlands to play a game which will test their detection, backstabbing and trust – with the chance of winning up to £120,000.

This year, two of the contestants taking part are Scousers. Dan Bird, a bank risk manager and Minah Shannon, a call centre manager, are among the 25 contestants involved. After an explosive first two episodes, seven contestants have already departed the Scottish Highlands.

Three went home before the train made it to the castle, while four members of the faithful have been eliminated from the game after their arrival – two courtesy of the Traitors’ fatal envelopes, and another two at the roundtable vote. Ahead of the third episode tonight, Gambling.com television expert James Leyfield has assessed the games’ events so far and created markets on who will be banished next, who will be murdered next, and who will win the show.

It’s very early in the game to work out out who will walk away with the prize money, but given that she has so far evaded detection, Minah is the 11/8 favourite to win the show. Minah, 29, has been an immediate hit with fans and was selected by host Claudia Winkleman as one of the three Traitors on the third series.

Minah previously revealed the special way she will celebrate the huge prize money if viewers are correct. Speaking to the BBC ahead of the show, she said: “The first thing I’d do is book me and my husband a honeymoon.

“We got married in December 2020, in the height of Covid, and we had a really small wedding, which was lovely, but it wouldn’t have been my choice and we didn’t get a honeymoon. I’d love for us to go traveling around America for three weeks. I’d also use the money for a house deposit, which would be amazing.”

Viewers following the show on social media platform X have so far praised Minah for the way she has played the game so far. Fellow Traitors, Armani and Linda, have already prompted suspicion from the Faithfuls.

Jay said: “Minah being the only traitor with any semblance of a clue…” Danny added: “Armani is getting too cocky and thinks she’s untouchable like Paul last series, it’s going to bite her in the backside within the next episode or two. I love Linda, but she’s a gonner soon. Minah deffo has a chance of being a long lasting Traitor.”

Tom commented: “Minah is by far the best of the 3 traitors.” Daniel added: “Minah may just be the best traitor we have ever had I LOVE her.”

According to Gambling.com television expert James Leyfield, former soldier Leanne is tipped as the next early favourite at 5/2, followed by Lisa (3/1). With all three still in play, the Traitors are the 8/13 favourites to win the show for the second year running.

The Faithful are 13/8 to win – although a good episode from them tonight could create a market swing in their favour. When it comes to contestants who could be next to leave, Charlotte has already been the subject of a lot of scrutiny at the roundtable and it’s 4/5 that she will be banished at the next seated meeting.

Her ill-judged comment that she was relaxed after Claudia’s Traitor selection has stayed in many of her fellow players’ minds, while the Traitors tactic of eliminating Keith to draw attention to her could still pick up some traction. Traitor Armani is a big personality and has been very vocal around the group so far.

However, as her fellow Traitor Minah said, there is an element of her ‘doing too much’. The financial investigator from London is at risk of creating an inquest into herself heading into tonight’s episode, and she is 5/4 to be banished next.

If eyes are on her there is also a question around if her fellow Traitors will support her, given that she criticised them in the turret for essentially not planting enough seeds of suspicion around the group. One of her team members, Linda (7/4), has also faced some accusations, mainly stemming from a Freudian slip/look after Claudia selected her Traitors in episode one.

If Armani does indeed survive the next roundtable, then it’s 6/4 that she and her fellow Traitors will decide to banish her sister Maia, in an attempt to take the heat off her. Tyler’s wholesome nature and old-soul have seemingly charmed the rest of the contestants, and it’s 7/4 that the Traitors make a tactical move to take him out of the running. Meanwhile Lisa has kept her head down since entering the castle, and it’s 2/1 that she is murdered before the secret vicar starts to build a congregation in the game.
