BBC The Traitors’ star slams ‘witch hunt’ and change they should have made

A contestant from The Traitors banished from the castle has opened up about their time on the show.

Armani was shown the door in the first episode after receiving the most amount of votes. Fellow Traitor Minah also voted for the 27-year-old to be sent home packing in a shocking twist.

London-based financial investigator Armani confessed that she was “perplexed” as she didn’t suspect the Faithfuls had sussed out her true identity, the Mirror reports. Speaking on The Traitors Uncloaked podcast, the BBC One star revealed that if she could turn back time, she wouldn’t have let slip that her sister Maia was also part of the game. “If I could go back I’d be like ‘Oh my god shut up just forget it.’ We did it because we are so similar, we talk similarly, we look similar, our mannerisms [are similar],” she explained.

She went on to say: “I was laughing when I saw us both crying, when she walked through the door [during the breakfast scene]. I was looking at her like blimey we even cry the same. ” The sisters found themselves in hot water during the roundtable chat as the other contestants suspected one of them was likely a Traitor.

Maia admitted she was “60%” suspicious of Armani. Armani vented on the podcast about being suddenly shunned: “It was such a witch-hunt out of nowhere. I was like ‘Erm hold on a minute, I thought we were all cool, I thought we were all on the Armani train what is going on right now’.”

Asked at the start of the game how she would feel if she was a Traitor, she said: “Fantastic. I’m not really stressed either way, but I just feel like as a Traitor it’s a completely different game. There’s the sense of security that you’re not going to get killed off at night-time, but then there’s the fact that you’ve got to lie for the whole game, essentially to the people that you start to build relationships with. I’m not going to take it to heart if someone betrays me, I’d do the same. If I got killed off as a Faithful, for example, I would just be like, what a shame, but it is what it is.”

The Traitors returned to our screens on New Year’s Day, shocking audiences with a twist straight away. Host Claudia greeted the players by throwing them into an intense first challenge within just ten minutes of episode one. A staggering £10,000 was up for grabs if the 25 hopefuls agreed to cull three of their own.
