A brand new Italian deli has locals raving about it, with one customer calling its sandwich the “best outside of Italy”. Dough & Doppio opened last week in Bromborough and has since “gone viral”, gaining over 800 followers in four days on Facebook.
The deli, which is situated on New Chester Road, serves pizza, focaccia sandwiches, coffee and more, while customers are seemingly going mad for the food, with the café already running out of stock. One local said: “Just went in and had a lovely slice of pizza and a latte. Delicious and reasonably priced!”
Dough & Doppio is owned by Romanian husband and wife, Blanka and Sebastian, along with their friend, Razvan. Fun and random fact: Sebastian and Razvan were born on the same day in the same hospital, but met each other in the UK.
Blanka, who lived in Italy before moving to Britain, where she has now been for 14 years, said they didn’t expect the level of support they have received in the week since opening. She told the ECHO: “This is a really good addition to the town. To be honest, we didn’t think it was going to be as popular as it is, but in four days, it’s gone viral and we gained about 800 followers online.
“People are going crazy for it and we’ve been running out of stock. My husband has had to go to Manchester to buy more stock before delivery day.”

Speaking about the food on offer at Dough & Doppio, she said: “I used to work in events catering and have been cooking all of my life – it’s my passion. We love Italy and Italian food. The quality and taste of Italian food is the best in the world – and the coffee too.
“Everything here is freshly baked; we make really nice dough every day. Everything is done in house. The coffee is good quality – I think it is number one in Italy currently.”
The deli’s current opening hours are 8.30am until 5pm however, Blanka says they want to open later at some point in the future. She added: “We want to open in the night time, serving Neapolitan pizza.”
