There is no end to the bone-chilling weather in Birmingham this weekend as the Met Office warns of “freezing fog” and ice. Weather officials said from 1am to 9am on Saturday, January 11 there would be freezing fog and low clouds, which may linger into the rest of the day.
The temperature will remain bitterly cold on Saturday, with highs of just 1C at 3pm. The rest of the day will see low temperatures, which at their lowest will “feel like -4C.”
Generally Sunday will be a slightly milder day in Birmingham, with highs of 4C. However it will continue to feel cold ahead of downpours on Monday.

Weather forecasters said the cold blast this weekend will build up on Friday evening, which will see hard frost and icy stretches forming overnight. Conditions will remain dry and there will be light winds, however this will allow freezing fog to develop.
Freezing fog will spread in Birmingham from 1am to 9am on Saturday, particularly in areas outside of the city. On Saturday, the minimum temperature will “feel like” -4C from 5am to 10am. Similarly, on Sunday, it will feel like -2C from midnight.
Overall, the weekend will be dry and settled, but staying cold and frosty across Birmingham. This will turn into rain and showery downpours from Monday.
The Met Office forecast for this weekend in Birmingham stated: “Dry with some sunny spells, although freezing fog and low cloud may linger in rural parts. Still rather cold with light winds and icy patches forming into the evening. Maximum temperature 3C.
“Sunny spells on Sunday, but still rather cold, before turning milder next week.”
