A body has been found during the search for a missing dad, it has been reported. John George failed to board a flight home from Spain on December 18 last year.
His family have since travelled to Alicante as they desperately searched for him. And now a body has been recovered, although it is not yet confirmed whether or not the remains are Mr George.
The family of the missing dad-of-two two received a call from the Cuerpo de la Guardia Civil just before 5pm UK time saying they had located a body, BelfastLive reports. His father Billy was in Alicante helping in the search with wife Sharon and John’s siblings Darren, Courtney and Caitlin.

Around 50 friends and wider family had also travelled to Spain to help with the search. In an emotional video posted on Facebook on Monday, Billy George said: “Another day and another nightmare we are living.
“Why won’t they just give the body up and we get out of here, please. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ve never begged for anything in my life but if you want me to get on my hands and knees, I’ll beg.
“Just give me John’s body. If you have a conscience, just give me the body. This is just a living nightmare for me, his mother, his brother and sisters and his family. You don’t know how much you are hurting us, whatever it is, whatever went wrong, just give me the body. Please, please, please, I can’t keep begging you, I just need my son. I just want to bring my son home.”
Mr George’s said on social media that he will confirm if the body is that of John George – also known as John Hardy – as soon as the remains have been identified.
