One of Brazil’s most revered artists, Seu Jorge, will return to the UK this year to take the stage at Roundhouse, London.
From the samba circles of Rio’s outskirts to global acclaim, Mr Jorge’s career spans music, cinema, and culture.
Celebrated for his smooth bossa nova guitar style and laid-back stage presence, he has shaped Brazilian music with albums like Samba Esporte Fino and Cru and collaborations with icons like Marisa Monte and David Bowie.
Mr Jorge leapt to international recognition in the 2002 film City of God, followed by his role as the enigmatic David Bowie-singing sailor in Wes Anderson’s 2004 movie, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
He reimagined Life on Mars?, Rebel Rebel, and Starman with a uniquely Brazilian warmth which Bowie himself described as having a “new level of beauty.”
With more than 30 years of artistry, seven solo albums, three Latin Grammys, and a legacy that spans continents, Mr Jorge remains an unmissable live performer.
This rare London appearance marks the singer and guitarist’s first UK show since his tribute to David Bowie with the Heritage Orchestra at The Hammersmith Apollo in 2019.
Since premiering his Bowie songbook to a sold-out Royal Albert Hall in 2017, Mr Jorge has toured the orchestral adaptation of the show at world-renowned venues including the Hollywood Bowl and Philharmonie de Paris.
For this special performance at Roundhouse, Mr Jorge will showcase timeless highlights from his acclaimed discography.
