Brit woman, 30, found dead in Vietnam villa as police make chilling discovery

A British woman has tragically been found dead in a villa in Vietnam. The police in Quang Nam province are currently investigating the deaths of a British woman and a South African man, who were discovered dead in their rooms by staff on Boxing Day.

They were located at the Hoa Ch. Tourist Villa, in the town of Hoi An, around 11.18am in separate rooms.

According to Vietnam News, the woman, born in 1991, was staying in room 101, while the man, born in 1988, was residing in room 201. Both victims had registered for long-term temporary residence at the tourist villa from July 4 this year.

Quang Nam Provincial Police conducted an investigation at the scene and autopsies have also been ordered. Initial findings reportedly show no signs of scratches or external force on the bodies.

However, several empty bottles of liquor were collected from the scene. This incident follows the death of a British tourist in Thailand who suffered a severe reaction after consuming magic mushrooms, reports the Mirror.

It is alleged that he purchased the hallucinogenic drug on December 20 from a shop in Chiang Mai, a city popular with tourists in the north of the country. After returning to his hotel room to consume the mushrooms, the holidaymaker is said to have suffered a severe reaction, during which he was reportedly left foaming at the mouth and shaking.

He sadly died a short time later.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office confirmed: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities.”

Meanwhile, police reported they conducted a raid on a cannabis shop named Glory Days, which is allegedly where the man purchased the mushrooms, resulting in four arrests including that of the owner.
