Britain’s reported richest TV presenter is worth £18 million and owns a stunning £2.5 million mansion.
It may come as a surprise that it is not Ant McPartlin, Declan Donnelly, or Gary Lineker.
Instead it is the Chase host Bradley Walsh, according to 2023 reports.
According to figures from his WingIt Productions firm, Walsh is the wealthiest solo TV host with his net worth going up £3.5 million in 2023.
“Bradley really is at the top of his game right now and is raking it in,” a TV insider told the Daily Mail. “He’s firmly established himself at the top of his profession and is the go-to man for both the BBC and ITV.
“And that shows no signs of slowing down either, as viewers can’t get enough of him.”
Walsh was a professional footballer when he was approached by ITV to present the game show Midas Touch. In 1997, he was then asked to host Wheel of Fortune.
He then pivoted to acting, starring on Coronation Street, Law and Order: UK, Doctor Who and the Larkins. In 2009, he became the host of the Chase and in the years following has also presented Odd One In, Keep It In The Family and Cash Trapped
The Chase has seen maximum success, and the one of the keys behind that success – says former question writer Fraser Cameron – is Bradley.
He explained: “He reads the multiple-choice questions for the first time on air, so his reaction is genuine shock. We try to push what is decent at teatime by using words like plums or beaver, or slightly rude words in strange contexts.
“If we’re writing funny options, they’re usually option C, as the last punch line at the end. Bradley is one of the main reasons why the show’s so popular — he can take a very normal-sounding question and turn it into comedy gold.”
As a duo, Ant and Dec are among the wealthiest presenters, worth around £62 million each.
Other reports suggest Walsh may not be the richest presenter in the UK. Gary Lineker, who is also not a solo presenter, is believed to have a net worth of £30 million according to some reports.
