Broadband customers could make big savings on their monthly bills by reviewing their viewing habits. Millions of households have one or more streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV but people are being encouraged to consider how often they use them and whether they are worth the money.
Customers could save £180 or more by cutting streaming services out of their lives. That’s based on the face the average service costs around £7.50 a month and some households are signed up to two or more.
If people rarely use certain services, it’s probably not worth the money. For those who want to keep at least one, experts say it’s worth thinking about which one they watch most, as they can likely live without the others. Short-term deals can also be considered should Brits really want to watch a particular show on a streaming service.

Cutting out streaming services means households may be able to manage with slower broadband speeds and save more money on bills. Matt Sanders, broadband expert at Go.Compare, said: “Speed is one of the key factors consumers consider when choosing broadband.
“We often think faster is better, with many deals offering enticing features such as super or ultrafast fibre. But, if you’re not using your current speed, you could switch to a cheaper package and save some money.
