After a brutal year in which Carole Middleton suffered the crippling worry surrounding her daughter Princess Kate ’s cancer diagnosis, 2025 looks set to be a little brighter for the Middleton matriarch – not least because of Kate’s successful completion of treatment. However, it isn’t just a year free from cancer’s shadow that awaits the proud mother, as 2025 will also mark a crucial milestone for Carole, as she is set to make her 70th birthday in just a few short weeks time.
Having reflected previously on how much she loves the start of a new year, Carole once told her social media followers that it holds a special place in her heart – and precisely why. Posting on the Party Pieces social media account, a party planning business she and her husband founded, Carole once wrote: “It’s no surprise I’ve learned to love January; it’s the start of a new year, a time to put healthy habits in place, and it’s my birthday month—so there’s every good reason to celebrate with loved ones!”
Carole Middleton is set to turn 70 in just over two weeks time
Last January, both Princess Kate and Carole’s birthdays (which fall on the 9th and 31st respectively) were overshadowed by the worrying news of the Princess of Wales ’ abdominal surgery, which later went on to pave the way to her worrying cancer diagnosis. Although it remains unclear how long Kate had known she would require surgery, the Palace confirmed that it had been “planned” when she was admitted to hospital on 16 January.
Yet by Kate’s own admission at her carol service earlier this month, at the very same concert back in December 2023 she had no idea that in just one month’s time her life would change forever. Thankfully he recovery has been successful, which means concerned mum Carole will have an extra reason to smile this birthday.
Carole and husband Michael previously marked her 60th birthday abroad
So far, no details have been released about how Carole plans to mark her milestone birthday, but in previous years she has often gone abroad with her husband Michael to mark signifiant occasions, such as her 60th birthday in 2015 which saw her jet off to the private Caribbean Island of Mustique.. The luxury break featured champagne, a jazz band and plenty of fireworks and the island held a special precedent in the Middleton’s family history as it was also the location that saw 6 month old Prince George accompany his parents to the resort back in 2014.
Given the turbulent year they’ve just concluded however, the Middleton’s may be keen to remain on home ground this time around, and if so will likely celebrate privately at their Berkshire family home, Bucklebury Manor. Set in 18 acres, the £4.7m property features seven bedrooms, five reception rooms, a library, tennis court, swimming pool and drawing room.
