As Caroline Flack’s former boyfriend Lewis Burton and her pal Lottie Tomlinson gear up to welcome a new addition to their family, Caroline Flack’s mum is reportedly still “devastated” by their relationship. Lottie, 26, was close friends with Caroline before the TV presenter tragically took her own life in 2020 amid an impending court appearance over an assault allegation.
Before her court date, the Love Island host, aged 40, ended her own life, leaving behind a note for boyfriend Lewis. However, Lottie and Lewis found love together after Caroline’s death, a development that has reportedly been hard for Caroline’s mother, Christine, to come to terms with.
The couple went public with their relationship just months after Caroline’s passing. A recent Instagram post saw Lewis excitedly talk about his holiday and growing family, writing: “Our last one as 3,” referring to the upcoming birth of his and Lottie’s second child, a baby girl who is nearly due.

A friend of Caroline’s has now claimed that this joy “must be devastating for Christine”. Speaking to Mail Online, the friend said: “She has lost her daughter and now Lewis has become some kind of influencer with his girlfriend, living in apparent bliss and about to become a father for the second time.
“He has been able to move on with his life and find happiness, Caroline hasn’t and it is heartbreaking. Nobody expected Lewis to never find love again, of course he was entitled to, but it was all very quick.”
This disclosure came as it surfaced that Caroline’s mother will play a crucial part in an upcoming documentary seeking to uncover the events that transpired in Caroline’s last months. Christine is partnering again with Curious Films, the creators of the poignant 2021 ‘Caroline Flack: Her Life And Death’, for an in-depth look at her daughter’s final chapter while also celebrating her illustrious career, including roles presenting Love Island and The X Factor.
The forthcoming programme is entitled ‘Caroline’ and is expected to premiere on a streaming service in 2025. Ahead of the documentary, Christine said: “I still have so many questions about what happened to Caroline in her final months, and it’s something I feel deeply compelled to explore, even though I know it will be challenging. I’m pleased to be working with the team at Curious Films once again, in the hope of bringing clarity and understanding to Carrie’s story – not just for her, but for everyone who cared about her.”
