CCTV appeal after man breaks into restaurant through floorboards and steals cash float

A CCTV appeal has been issued by police after a man broke into a shop by ripping up floorboards, before stealing a cash float and mobile phone.

Police were cold to reports of a burglary at a business on Manchester Road, in Bolton, at around 12.55am on Wednesday (January 8).

It was reported that an unknown man had broken into a flat above a restaurant, before breaking in through the ceiling by ripping up the floorboards.

Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to the ceiling and the lighting. The man also made off from the scene with a cash float and business mobile phone.

CCTV images of a man have been issued. Police would like to speak with him as they believe he could assist with the ongoing investigation.

A GMP spokesperson said: “Officers investigating the burglary have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to, as it is believed that he could help with their enquiries.
