Christine McGuinness has admitted ‘this was scarier’ as she shared the ‘reality’ of her house after Christmas with Paddy and their kids.
The Blackpool-born model gave fans a life update after spending the festivities with her ex-husband and twins Penelope and Leo, 11, and Felicity, eight. Despite announcing their separation in 2022 following their heartfelt documentary ‘Our Family and Autism’, the pair vowed to spend Christmas together for the benefit of their children, who all have autism.
Maintaining a sense of normality for their kids, they have continued living under one roof in their Cheshire property, committed to joint parenting. In a candid chat with Woman’s Own magazine before Christmas, the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star, 36, shared insights into their low-key celebrations.
“The last thing we want to do is upset our children over Christmas, so we’ll make sure we’re all together.”
She added: “It will be a quiet one. We always try to keep it quiet, because the children can get quite overwhelmed with the changes. So we try to keep it like a normal day but with presents.”
Taking to her Instagram following Christmas Day, Christine shared a series of photos as she told her 700k followers: “The gift of being present is the greatest gift of all.”
“Only a day late with the Christmas post! I’ve been busy just taking it all in (and if I wasn’t late, I wouldn’t be me). My heart, my home and my camera roll is full of happy children. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.”
Former Take Me Out presenter Paddy also shared a series of photos on his own Instagram from the big day, as he wrote: “Christmas Day done! We played, we laughed, we got heartburn. Same again next year!!! Kids in bed, tinnies out, telly on! From my family to yours, Merry Christmas.”
On Saturday (December 28), Christine then shared that she had participated in The Weakest Link, party special, which was being aired later that evening. She admitted to her followers: “I can honestly say this was scarier than being on the run. but I did have lots of fun! The Weakest Link, NYE party special! tonight 7.30 @bbcone.”
On Sunday (December 29), the mum then took to her Instagram stories to share a meme about the chaos in her household which read: “When your household is a mix of autism, ADHD, and sensory overload… and everyone’s unregulated.”
Christine, who was also diagnosed with autism herself, wrote alongside it: “Real footage from my house right now.”
