Coleen Rooney has opened up about the start of her and Wayne’s relationship when they were teenagers. The two got engaged in 2003 in their late teens, after Wayne popped the question at a petrol station.
Last week, Coleen appeared on an episode of Stick to Football. The Sky Bet show has a regular panel of Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, Ian Wright, Gary Neville and Jill Scott.
I’m a Celeb runner up-Coleen and former footballer Wayne Rooney got married in 2008 in a ceremony in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy. The-mum-of-four admitted that she and Wayne “felt older” because they had grown up quickly and were living in the public eye.
Coleen offered the panel anecdotes about her relationship with Wayne including one instance when Wayne got a tattoo as a tribute to the TV personality. She said: “We were going to a party as one of our friends was turning 18, who was a bit older than us. That day, I got a phone call, and it was his cousin who asked me if I spelled my name with one L or two L’s.
“I said one L and asked why, and he said he was in the town with Wayne who was getting a tattoo. He walks into the party with his top off, showing everyone and I felt ashamed. He told me it was fine because we were going to be together forever.”
Coleen and Wayne now have four children together. Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass Mac. During her impressive Jungle run she received an abundance of support from Scouse stars including Abbey Clancy, Tony Bellew and Claire Sweeney. Wayne supported his wife every step of the way on her route to becoming I’m a Celebrity runner-up with regular video messages shared to Instagram.
In what has been an action packed month for the 38-year-old, Coleen still managed to find time to hold a meet and greet with fans on Friday. To celebrate her new Applied Nutrition range, Coleen spoke to the ECHO explaining the decision to put herself back in the spotlight.
She said: “I had a lot of things going on in my life and my kids were only small. Now they are all getting that little bit older and I am ready to get back out there, do some work and media, which I’ve always enjoyed. My family always comes first and that was my main priority.”
Coleen’s decision to move into the wellness space has been emboldened since her stint on I’m A Celebrity as she was flooded with praise from viewers, who were eager to know the secrets of how she achieved such a radiant glow during her time in the Australian camp.
