There could be heartbreak on the cards for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) as Carla Connor (Alison King) is pulling back from their new relationship. The pair have been smitten over the past few weeks, although it looks as though there’s already trouble in paradise.
During Wednesday’s episode, Carla was seen at Roy’s cafe looking worse for wear. As she started to hallucinate, it was clear Carla began to fear that she was having another psychotic episode.
While Roy was also worried for his friend, he suggest she head home to rest. Although later on when he went to check on her, Carla was on the floor barely conscious.
Carla was rushed to hospital, where a doctor told Roy she has sepsis. Informing the medic that she only has one kidney, he was fearful of what that could mean for her health.
Later on in the episode, Carla learnt that Lisa was yet to learn about her health scare as Roy wasn’t able to get ahold of her. However, when he asked if he should tell her, Carla quickly told him to keep quiet.

She told him: “As soon as she does (know), she’s going to start looking around for a parachute. The last person she was with died Roy, she doesn’t want to get hurt again, she’s going to bail on me.”
Roy highlighted that Lisa would be concerned for her health, although Carla was adamant that that wasn’t the case. Recalling New Year’s Eve, Lisa was left taken aback after Carla let slip she was falling in love with her.
Confiding in Roy, Carla admitted she was better cutting her loses now, than waiting around to get dumped. Later on, ITV viewers saw Lisa call Carla, wondering where she was.

Not wanting to reveal the truth that she was in hospital, Carla lied and said she was at the airport heading to Ireland for a last-minute trip.
Wondering how long she’d be gone for, Carla said she’d be away for a few days, leaving Lisa in the dark about what’s really happening. Will Carla tell DS Swain the truth? Or has she pushed her away for good?
It wasn’t long before viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the situation, with many unimpressed with Carla lying to Lisa.

While I knew Carla would push Lisa away, watching it happen was heartbreaking! #corrie, you need to get this sorted on Friday.” One fan tweeted: “carla thinking Lisa will get scared and leave her because she’s seriously unwell. Lisa thinking carla is leaving her because she couldn’t tell her she loves her. this is painful.”
