The new owner of the Rovers Return on Coronation Street has been ‘revealed’ – and it’s a familiar face to fans.
The iconic landmark is one of the most well-known pubs in all of soapland and it holds a wealth of history throughout the soap’s 65-year reign on screens. Over the years, viewers have seen several faces stand behind the iconic bar, ruling the roost and ringing the bell.
From soap legends like Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) to newbies like Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), it’s rarely a quiet time in the boozer.
Currently, the pub is owned by Carla Connor (Alison King), after landlady Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and Daisy ended up stealing stolen cash from Carla’s factory to buy the pub, amid their money trouble.

When Carla found out, she was furious. However, she agreed not turn in Daisy and Jenny, and claimed ownership of the Rovers since it had been bought with her money. However, fans are now certain that the pub is about to get a new owner.
Over on the cobbles recently, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) shocked fans when she started poisoning Ken Barlow (Will Roache). The pair struck up a friendship when Ken needed caring for, after he fell and injured himself.

What’s more, Cassie also overheard that Ken had won £50k from premium bonds. Ken then shared the news with her himself – leaving Cassie delighted. She then persuaded him to use some of his cash on a luxury holiday abroad, suggested someone could go with him. And she soon put her name down for consideration.
Since then, Cassie has been drugging Ken – meanwhile, other residents have grown suspicious of her reasons for helping out Ken.

Now, in what would be a game-changing twist, viewers are certain Cassie could use Ken’s cash to buy the Rovers. On X, one person wrote: “Imagine Cassie convinces Ken to use his premium bond money on buying the Rovers and then Cassie actually ends up as the landlady, what a mega turn of events that would be if she wasn’t in recovery.”
Other fans seemed to agree, as a second penned: “Cassie as landlady of the Rovers – PLEASEEEE, we need it.” A third penned: “I genuinely think it would make for great TV it would be so good.”
