Coronation Street Sean ‘to be killed off’ after 22 years as fans ‘work out’ murder twist

Coronation Street’s Sean Tully could be set for a shock exit, fans have predicted.

The cobbles legend (Antony Cotton) has been a part of the soap since the 2000s – making his debut in 2003. Since then, Sean’s become one of the show’s iconic and beloved characters.

The Rovers Return barman has also played a part in several big storylines too over the years – from his string of failed romances to becoming a dad to Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).

And over on the cobbles last year, Dylan was bullied by troublemaker Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) – who was sent to a Young Offenders centre. Mason later made his return to the cobbles, adamant he wanted to turn his life around.

Unfortunately, this week, he was stabbed by his thug brothers – and later died. To make things worse for Dylan, Mason was stabbed using Dylan’s zombie knife he bought with him – prior to Mason’s death.

In Wednesday’s episode (January 8), Dylan ended up confessing all to his dad Sean, revealing that the knife that was used to kill Mason belonged to him.

Desperate, Dylan begged Sean to help go on the run – and Sean later shopped him into the police, knowing it was the right thing to do.

After a tough interview at the police station, Dylan was granted bail – but it was clear the ordeal was far from over, as even though Dylan is telling the truth, he could still be sent to prison for carrying a bladed article at a crime scene.

Now, with Dylan potentially leaving the soap to go to prison, viewers reckon it’s only a matter of time before Sean does too. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person said: “Dylan going to Young Offenders for possession of a knife – would mean the character going.

“That then leaves Sean hanging – do they keep him or depict him moving closer to the Young Offenders to keep in contact with Dylan? Certainly I think Dylan’s mother may well pressure him never to return to Weatherfield. It’s not exactly been a good move for Dylan.”

Someone else agreed: “I agree, I can see Sean leaving to be closer to wherever Dylan goes.” What’s more, some fans have put forward a theory that could see Sean get murdered.

They wrote: “What if he gets murdered / killed off though? Hear me out, some of Mason’s family could be out for revenge and end up killing Sean?” A second person replied: “With all the exits happening it wouldn’t surprise me.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
