Coronation Street actress Rebecca Ryan has announced she is expecting her second child. The 33 year old, who portrayed Lydia Chambers on the soap from 2021 to 2022 and has starred in other popular series such as Waterloo Road, Casualty and Shameless, has been married to Dan Acraman since September 2022.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in April 2023. On Saturday, Rebecca took to Instagram to share several photos of herself flaunting her growing baby bump, captioning the post: “Sleeps overrated anyway, here comes baby No.2” alongside a red heart emoji.
The post attracted a flurry of excited comments from fans, family, and fellow celebrities. Among those commenting was Rebecca’s brother, Jack James Ryan, who played Jacob Hay in Coronation Street from 2021 to 2023. He wrote: “Can’t wait to meet my new best mate.”

Glamour model Rhian Sugden also expressed her excitement, writing: “Here she issssss! ” alongside several heart-eyed emojis. Another fan commented: “Awhhh amazing, congratulations to you all” with red heart emojis, reports the Mirror.
Rebecca and Dan are already proud parents to their first daughter, Aurora, whom they have frequently doted on via social media since her birth in 2023. Last April, Rebecca shared charming photos of Aurora celebrating her first birthday.
Sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram, she said: “My darling girl Aurora, where has this year gone? The immeasurable joy and love you have brought into my life is something I will be forever thankful for. Your cheeky smile lights up every room, and I just love watching you grow and change every single day. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Happy 1st birthday my girl.”

Rebecca is expecting her second child, who will be a new addition to her growing family – which also includes her brother, who just so happens to be a talented soap actor as well. Fans were amazed to learn that Rebecca and her Coronation Street co-star Jack are siblings, with Rebecca joining the show 10 months after Jack’s debut as Jacob.
Interestingly, even the soap’s bosses were in the dark about the duo’s familial connection, only discovering it after they had been cast as main characters. As Rebecca previously revealed to The Mirror: “Nobody at ‘Coronation Street’ had any idea. When I joined, I’d be talking to people and say, ‘Oh, yeah, my brother works here’. And they’d go, ‘Really, who’s your brother? What? Jack! ‘ It’s a dream come true to be working on the show at the same time, but it’s a total coincidence.”
