Fresh off his remarkable victory at the World Darts Championship, teenage prodigy Luke Littler has swapped the stage at London’s Alexandra Palace for the sunny shores of Benidorm.
The 17-year-old champion, nicknamed “The Nuke,” jetted off with his family for a well-earned break, traveling on budget airline Ryanair despite his recent £500,000 win.
Joining Luke on the trip were his parents, Lisa and Anthony, his sister Caitlin, and his brother Leon, who brought along his partner and baby. The holiday comes just a week after Luke’s stunning 7-3 triumph over darts legend Michael Van Gerwen.

While in Spain, Luke paid a visit to the Bar Players Sports Bar in Albir, where he watched his 21-year-old brother Leon compete in a local darts tournament., reports the Mirror. The bar shared their excitement on social media, posting photos of the champion and writing: “Last night saw the first darts tournament of 2025, and what a night it was! We were honoured to host the Darts Champion of the World, Luke Littler, along with his family and friends.
“With Luke’s brother Leon taking part, it was a fantastic evening. All of us at Bar Players Sports Bar Albir would like to thank Luke and his family for spending time with us during their holiday. We wish them all the best for 2025!”
Luke surprises a friend in Spain
While in Benidorm, Luke managed to surprise a friend during a visit to a restaurant. A video posted online shows Luke, dressed casually in grey tracksuit bottoms and a jumper, walking up to the table where his friend sat with Luke’s dad. The friend’s disbelief was captured in his reaction—wide-eyed and hands on his head—before he embraced the young champion.
Despite his newfound fame, Luke attempted to keep a low profile during his travels. At Manchester Airport, he kept his hood up and earphones in, but one passenger still recognised him, shaking his hand and joking that the hood was attracting more attention. Luke later swapped it for his brother’s baseball cap.
Once in Spain, Luke shared a snapshot of the sunny Playa de Albir beach, where temperatures hit a warm 20°C—much more appealing than the -6°C snowstorm back in his hometown of Warrington, Cheshire.

While enjoying his holiday, Luke also had a fan moment of his own, asking for a selfie and autograph from local pub singer Matt Fisher, a well-known performer in Benidorm since 1998 and a former contestant on The X Factor .
Luke’s victory at the World Darts Championship has capped off a stellar year, during which he has earned over £1.5 million in prize money and signed lucrative sponsorship deals with Microsoft and Boohoo. With his 18th birthday just weeks away, Luke is enjoying some well-deserved downtime with his loved ones, soaking up the sun in Benidorm while planning for an even brighter future in the world of darts.
