Darwin Nunez was flooded with support as his girlfriend sent him a heartwarming message. The Liverpool forward could return to the starting line-up tomorrow as the Reds travel to Brentford in the Premier League.
Nunez has been in and out of Arne Slot’s side this season. Nevertheless, he will have a role to play as the team look set to go far in multiple competitions this season.
Away from the pitch, Nunez is in a relationship with Lorena Manas. The couple have been together since Nunez was plying his trade in Spain with La Liga side Almeria, and have a son together who is also called Darwin.
Lorena also has a daughter with ex-Barcelona star Aleix Vidal, called Chloe. It was announced in November that she was pregnant with her third child.
In Lorena’s most recent Instagram post, she posted a loving picture of herself kissing Nunez and showed her baby bump. She tagged her partner in the post with the caption “mami and papi” and added a red love heart emoji.
The post received over 360,000 likes. In the comments, Alien Cova and Natalia Becker left heart emojis in support of the couple. Alien is the girlfriend of midfielder Alexis Mac Allister while Natalia is the wife of goalkeeper Alisson.
Nunez confirmed last November that her partner was pregnant on the pitch. The striker celebrated his goal against Aston Villa by sucking his thumb and putting the ball up his top. In an Instagram post afterwards, he shared several pictures of the baby scan as well as snaps of Lorena and her baby bump.
He said at the time: “Words cannot express the happiness we feel for this new life we have created together, our family grows, your brothers and your parents are waiting for you with the utmost excitement to give you all the love in the world.”
