Deptford rapper DigDat to face attempted murder trial

Drill artist DigDat, real name Nathan Tokosi, is charged with attempted murder as well as firearm offences. 

The charges, which the 25-year-old denies, relate to an incident on Monday, November 20, 2023, in Clydesdale Road, Notting Hill.   

Police were called to reports of a shooting at 2.05am.  

Specialist firearms officers were called out and found a man in his 20s with gunshot injuries.  

He was taken to a west London hospital, where his condition was later assessed as not life-threatening following emergency surgery. 

Tokosi was charged in February last year. 

On Thursday (January 2) Tokosi appeared at the Old Bailey for an administrative hearing via a video link from HMP Belmarsh. 

He is set to face trial on February 3. 

As well as attempted murder, Tokosi is accused of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another person to do so.   

He is also charged with possessing three 9mm Parabellum calibre bullets.

DigDat rose to fame in 2018 with the release of his single Air Force, which peaked at number 20 in the UK Singles Charts.   

The rapper has since amassed more than 450,000 followers on Instagram and was signed to Sony Music.
