Dewsbury homes raided for Class A drugs as multiple people charged

Multiple people have been arrested, with four people charged, after the police seized large quantities of Class A drugs in a two-day operation in Dewsbury.

West Yorkshire Police executed warrants at 10 houses and made eight arrests in the operation, which began on Wednesday, January 8. Now, Kirklees District Programme Precision detectives are continuing the investigation.

The police also recovered an estimated £30,000 worth of suspected Class A drugs, along with cash.

Four men have now been charged with offences including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. These four appeared before Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

Ahmed Hanif, 25, of Park Parade, Dewsbury, was charged with two offences of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Ismaeel Shafiq, 23 ad of Park Parade, Dewsbury, was charged with two offences of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and two offences conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Istaker Salim, 39, of Speakers Court, Dewsbury, was charged with two offences of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Ahsan Aslam, 33, of Ravenshouse Road, Dewsbury, was charged with two offences of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and two alleged offences of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Detective Sergeant Seb Morgan of the Kirklees District Precision Team, said: “Police remain determined to combat drugs supply and organised criminality in Kirklees and we are continuing our enquiries following these arrests.
