Dog trainer shares ‘king of all breeds’ as he lists unusual top three

A dog trainer has shared the breed he considers to be ‘king of all’ in an informative TikTok video. Will Atherton discussed his top three canine breeds in footage shared on the social media site.

And at number one, he listed Labradors as his favourite to work with. The popular pets are the number one dog breed in the UK with thousands owned and loved by Brits.

Will said: “If I could only ever choose three breeds to work with or own in the future, these are the one’s I would choose. If I could only ever choose one breed it would be the Labrador retriever. For me, the king of all dog breeds.”

They are known for their friendly nature and generally get along well with children, adults, and other animals, making them great for families. Will continued: “I absolutely love mastiff breeds. Of all the mastiff breeds, for me I would be torn between the English mastiff and the Cane Corso.

“If I had to choose, I would probably go Cane Corso for slightly less of an issue around common health issues and slightly increased athleticism. It just lets them enjoy walks more.”

Cane Corsos can be a challenging breed for first-time dog owners due to their size and strength. They can weigh between 90 to 120 pounds or more, and their strength means they must be well-trained to ensure control, especially around strangers or in public settings, The Mirror reports.

They are known for being protective, loyal and intelligent. Will added that he also has a soft spot for German Shepherds.

He said they are “one of the best dog breeds to train and one of the best all-around dog breeds”. He continued: “They can turn their hand to absolutely anything.

“Downside for them is they are prone to be quite excessive barkers, so bear this is mind if you’re not ready for that. That could become an issue for you in the future.”
