UK motorists who got their driving permits before 2016 might soon need to renew to avoid a £1,000 fine.
Driving licences in the UK are good for 10 years, and it’s crucial to renew them because letting them lapse can lead to serious consequences, including invalidated insurance and the risk of a hefty fine or your vehicle being impounded.
On Monday (January 6), the DVLA sent out an reminder: “Remember to renew your driving licence every 10 years, then the journey can go on! ” They also included a link where drivers can renew their licence. It’s a simple process costing £14 online or £21.50 if you do it at a Post Office.
