Ekin-Su’s go-to breakfast that’s packed with protein and healthy fats

Love Island favourite Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has shared the simple, protein-rich breakfast choice she swears by. The dish not only puts an end to snacking but also helps her heart, skin and slender figure.

The star, who clinched victory on the ITV reality dating show alongside Davide Sanclimenti in August 2022, is back in the villa after making a surprise arrival on the launch night (Monday, Janaury 13). Ekin-Su is looking for love following her split with Davide in January 2024

As the new series kicked off on Monday night, a post from Ekin-Su’s official Instagram account read: “Alright, I know I said I was done with Love Island, but here I am, fully invested again. The drama, the chaos, the questionable decisions, I just can’t stay away. Consider me officially back on Love Island.”

With her reappearance on our screens in 2025, fans are eager to copy her regimen for a figure fit for the villa, starting with breakfast. Ekin-Su has previously shared insights into her diet and fitness routine, particularly during her preparation for Dancing on Ice in 2023, reports the Mirror.

When quizzed about her preferred breakfast, Ekin-Su’s answer was straightforward. She told Women’s Health : “Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, with avocado.”

She said: “So [I’ll cook the eggs] probably with butter, and a bit of milk. I won’t make them in the microwave – I use a pan every time. As for the extras? I’ll maybe add some salt, chives and then smoked salmon. And some brown bread on the side to keep me going.”

Adding depth to the basic ‘eggs on toast’, this protein-rich start has long been hailed as an excellent choice for those looking to up their morning protein intake with each egg providing around 7g of protein. Besides being an affordable supermarket find, eggs also contribute to feeling fuller for longer, helping to stave off those mid-morning cravings by suppressing ghrelin, which is essentially your hunger signal.

Additionally, they come packed with essential vitamins A, D, E, and beneficial omega-3 fatty acids.

Even her choice of sides are doing wonders for Ekin-Su’s health. Smoked salmon has a full profile of amino acids necessary for muscle maintenance and growth, while its ample omega-3 content contributes to reduced risks of cardiovascular diseases.

Then there’s avocado – often praised as a superfood for its own myriad health benefits. It’s rich in vitamin E that enhances skin and visual health and supports the immune system.

Avocados can easily be overlooked as being misleadingly high in fats if you check their nutritional information. Yet these fats are exactly the type you should incorporate into your diet.

Research has indicated that avocado fats could play a role in decreasing cholesterol levels and diminishing heart disease risk. Senior dietitian at the British Heart Foundation, Victoria Taylor, said: “Avocados are high in unsaturated fat (specifically, monounsaturated fat) as well as fibre and other vitamins and minerals.

“We already know that swapping foods with saturated fat, like cheese, butter or fatty meats, for unsaturated fats, like avocado, oily fish, nuts, seeds, olive oil or rapeseed oil, can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Because they are high in fat, avocados are higher in calories than other fruits and vegetables, so if you’re watching your weight, keep an eye on your portion size.”
