Emmerdale viewers are speculating that a pregnancy plot twist is on the horizon for Sarah Sugden, but they believe Jacob Gallagher isn’t the father.
Actress Katie Hill has portrayed Sarah since 2017, taking over from Sophia Amber Moore who played the role from 2007 to 2016. As the offspring of Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), Sarah’s life in the Dales has been anything but dull.
Sarah’s character has spent most of her life battling health issues due to a life-altering diagnosis. She was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Fanconi anaemia when she was just six years old. This led to her requiring a life-saving bone marrow transplant and later a heart transplant.
Despite her health struggles, things seemed to be looking up for Sarah in recent episodes. She has been growing increasingly close to Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), reports Leeds Live.

After a disagreement between the two, Sarah was invited by Jacob’s junior doctor colleagues to join them for a drink at The Woolpack. Jacob and Sarah managed to reconcile their differences, and during Thursday’s episode (January 9), it was revealed that they had slept together after she stayed over at his place.
However, following a conversation with his mother Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Jacob appeared to have second thoughts about his relationship with Sarah, leaving her devastated. Emmerdale fans are abuzz with speculation that Sarah Sugden could be expecting a baby, but with a dramatic twist they suspect Jacob Gallagher might not be the father.

On a Reddit thread, one viewer pondered, “Do you think Sarah will end up pregnant with Jacob’s baby? ” This sparked agreement among other fans, with one noting, “Most likely. She’s 19 and hasn’t had any children yet, so overdue, plus the village needs a constant supply of new Dingles.”
The plot thickens on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page where viewers are questioning the paternity of the potential baby. One fan speculated, ” How long before they say Sarah’s pregnant with child kid?”
Another fan suggested an even bigger surprise, writing: “Biggest plot twist would be it’s not Jacob’s…” They further hypothesised that the real father could be one of Jacob’s friends from medical school, asking: “His friend at the pub?”
