Devoted Emmerdale watchers are bracing themselves for what they suspect could be a heart-wrenching departure of young Sarah Sugden from the much-loved ITV series.
Sarah, portrayed by Katie Hill, has weathered more than her fair share of trials and tribulations in the village. Born to Andy Sugden (played by Kelvin Fletcher) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), she’s been in and out of hospitals from an early age, confronting critical health challenges head-on.
Diagnosed with Fanconi anaemia at six, Sarah faced both a heart and bone marrow transplant, leaving her and viewers alike concerned about the fragility of her life amidst the enduring residents of the Dales.
Her fortitude is undeniable, having fought cancer on two separate occasions and suffered a dire heart failure episode resulting from chemotherapy side effects only a few years ago. Yet, against all odds, her narrative recently took a brighter turn, as her bond with Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) deepened.
