DONALD Trump’s tough guy expressions in the new presidential portrait show he is on a path to “vengeance” against his enemies, a top body language expert has revealed.
Trump also adopted the “angry populist” stance in the new picture – a stark shift from his previous portrait and has decided “not to play nice”, according to expert Erik Bucy.

Trump has made a bold statement after ditching his smile for the new presidential portrait ahead of the inauguration ceremony on January 20.
He seems to have recreated his historic scowling mugshot that broke the internet in 2023.
In the new presidential portrait, Trump has a glowering face as he appears to look straight into the camera, like a tough guy.
With a squinted eye and slightly furrowed brow, he makes a strong and assertive expression, says Mr Erik after analyzing the picture.
He told The US Sun: “Trump’s new portrait portends a kind of vengeance against perceived enemies, whether foreign or domestic.
“Presidents who lack smiles and refuse to appear likeable come across as defiant and grievance-ridden.”
Trump sensationally defied the odds to be re-elected as US President after a nail-biting election.
The two assassination attempts, criminal charges and loads of trash talk failed to dampen his parade as he again clinched the keys to the White House.
As he takes on as the 47th president of the US, he now intends to settle scores, says Mr Erik.
“The grievances he enumerated at rallies throughout his 2024 campaign all come home to roost in this one image of a somber Trump with a squinted right eye, communicating that he intends to settle scores, ” the expert said.
‘A blatant witch-hunt’ Trump hush-money trial was about humiliation & bias – it was totally baseless
“He has decided he’s not playing nice, and there’s no need to pretend any longer. He’s channeling the angry populist here,” he added.
It did not take long for people to compare Trump’s portrait to his mug shot from August 2023, when he turned himself in after being indicted on conspiracy and racketeering charges over allegations that he tried to overturn the 2020 election.
Fans are saying the new portrait is a bold statement from a defiant Trump who wants to show the world that he has finally arrived.
The official picture, released by Trump’s team on X, has once again taken the internet by storm.
One social media user said: “The look in President Trump’s eyes has changed.
“Despite the evil Deep State throwing everything they had at this man, even trying to assassinate him many times, he prevailed and won!
“God protected him and we the people are returning him to his rightful White House.”
Trump went on to raise a whopping $7.1 million in merchandise featuring his ultra-viral mug shot.
Even fans of Trump raised cash for him by selling merch featuring his scowling mugshot.
T-shirts, beer can covers and mugs bearing his perma-tanned face and the slogan “Never Surrender” cost up to $40.
His former adviser Stephen Miller told Fox News host Jesse Waters the mugshot is the “most powerful image” he’s seen.
Trump’s new portrait is also a far cry from his last presidential portrait which was shot eight years ago where he was all smiles.

INAUGURATION DAY
Preparations are underway for Donald Trump’s historic inauguration ceremony with photos showing the full dress rehearsal.
There are just a few days left before Trump, 78, officially reenters the White House as the 47th President of the United States, eight years after his first inauguration.
The day has been long awaited since the Republican swept to a seismic election victory over Kamala Harris back in November.
The ceremony on January 20 is one of the biggest events in US history, and security and organisation are of the utmost importance.
Trump is seen as a decisive figure in global politics – and the entire world world will be watching his inauguration.
The event will include a swearing-in ceremony, a signing ceremony, an inaugural luncheon, a pass-in-review, a procession, and a parade.
John Roberts, the chief justice of the Supreme Court, is expected to administer the oath.
Inaugural balls will be held at various venues before and after the ceremonies.
FAKE TRUMP
An excited fake Trump alongside Melania and even a stand-in JD Vance were seen at the US Capitol taking a mock-up oath before the seismic event next week.
Planning authorities this week spent a day hosting a detailed dress rehearsal with stand-ins for all the big players coming to the event.
A giddy Master Sergeant Matthew Nall played the role of Trump with the real-life president-elect’s wife Melania being played by Gunnery Sergeant Cecilia Koslowsky.
Models for Vice President JD Vance and his partner Usha were also used in Nate Buttram and Christine Lightner.
Outgoing president Joe Biden was strangely played by a woman at the event.
All four had big name tags on and played out the exact footsteps the real future US leaders will take next week.

A string of celebrity performers are also typically seen at every inauguration but Trump’s team is yet to confirm any names.
In 2016, he had America’s Got Talent star Jackie Evancho perform the national anthem and late country singer Toby Keith also appeared.
The inauguration ceremony has been backed by a huge influx of cash in recent days after aviation giant Boeing pledged to donate $1million to the event.
Google, Microsoft, Meta and Amazon are also set to make donations.
Car companies Ford, General Motors and Toyota have also donated $1million each with energy company Chevron also giving to the fund.
US officials say they are expecting the day to run smoothly and as planned despite tensions in America being high.
But they are operating in a “heightened threat environment” due to the New Year’s terror attack in New Orleans and the Cybertruck bomber in Los Angeles.
Around 7,800 soldiers are being drafted in for security with thousands of federal agents, police and other law enforcement officials also on hand.
Trump’s big day comes after he was formally sentenced in his hush-money case but avoided any punishment.
